Foreign Language Specialized High School gives bonus points to students who won first prize at provincial level

Foreign Language University - Vietnam National University, Hanoi has just announced the enrollment of grade 10 at Foreign Language Specialized High School in 2025.

Accordingly, the school's enrollment targets are students who have completed the secondary education program in the 2024-2025 school year.

Candidates must meet the requirements of academic results and training results for the entire year of junior high school classes from Good or higher; secondary school graduation grade from Good or higher.

To participate in the exam, each candidate will have to take 4 exams, including: literature (coefficient 1) in 120 minutes; math (coefficient 1) in 90 minutes; English (coefficient 1) 60 minutes and specialized foreign language (coefficient 2) 90 minutes.

For specialized foreign languages, candidates can take the exam in one of the following languages: English for English, Russian, French, Chinese, German, Japanese, Korean; French for French classes; Chinese for Chinese classes; German for German classes; Japanese for Japanese classes; Korean for Korean classes. Candidates can refer to the sample exam structure previously announced by the school.

The school releases online applications from April 7; accepts online applications from May 5 - 11, 2025; organizes exams in 1 day (June 1, 2025).

The school selects students based on the principle of taking the total score from high to low until the quota is full, from the specialized system with scholarships to the specialized system. The school announces the exam scores and admission scores for the admission systems at the same time, and organizes admission for the specialized system with scholarships and the specialized system within 1 day.

The school also provides information on direct admission and bonus points. Specifically, the school directly admits two groups: junior high school students who have won national prizes organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or in coordination with ministries and ministerial-level agencies organized nationwide in competitions, exams, and competitions on culture, arts, and sports; scientific and technical research competitions; and junior high school students who have won prizes in foreign languages in international competitions decided and selected by the Minister of Education and Training.

With the incentive points, the school adds 1.5 points to secondary school students who win first prize in foreign languages in the provincial/municipal excellent student selection exam organized by the Department of Education and Training.

For foreign students, the school considers Vietnamese students returning from abroad and children of foreigners working in Vietnam according to regulations with the following conditions: students have achieved level B1 (level 3) of Vietnamese for all specialized classes and level B2 (level 4) of English for specialized English classes.

Vietnamese and English proficiency is demonstrated by foreign language proficiency certificates recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training or by a test organized by the University of Foreign Languages (Vietnam National University, Hanoi).

Exam results will be announced before July 15, 2025 on the school's website.

In 2024, the highest benchmark score of the Foreign Language High School is the French specialized class (25.12 points), the French specialized class with scholarships has a benchmark score of 30.95.
