Urban area of ​​Thanh Do Bac Giang Construction Company is suspended

The People's Committee of Bac Giang province has just issued Decision No. 878/QD-XPHC dated May 28 on administrative sanctions for environmental protection violations against Thanh Do Bac Giang Construction Joint Stock Company.

Accordingly, Thanh Do Bac Giang Construction Joint Stock Company did not have a decision approving the results of the environmental impact assessment report appraisal as prescribed in the Project "Urban Area No. 2,3 next to Vietnam - Korea Vocational College of Technology" located in Dinh Tri commune, Bac Giang city.

According to the People's Committee of Bac Giang province, the total land area for the project invested by Thanh Do Bac Giang Construction Joint Stock Company is about 10.4 hectares, of which about 9.7 hectares is land for growing rice with 2 or more crops in Dinh Tri commune.

Previously, Bac Giang City requested to change the land use purpose, which is subject to the preparation of an environmental impact assessment report according to the provisions of Point b, Clause 1, Article 30 of the Law on Environmental Protection 2020, the appraisal and approval authority of the Provincial People's Committee according to Clause 3, Article 35 of the Law on Environmental Protection 2020. However, Thanh Do Bac Giang Construction Joint Stock Company has carried out stripping of colored soil, leveling the ground, and filling the project (organized the stripping of organic soil at 100% of the project area to occupy the ground; organized the filling and leveling of about 2% of the land area in urban area No. 2 and about 10% of the land area in urban area No. 3 with a total volume of about 2,500 m3 of soil) without a decision approving the results of the appraisal of the environmental impact assessment report according to regulations.

Based on the above content, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province decided to administratively fine Thanh Do Bac Giang Construction Joint Stock Company 350,000,000 VND.

In addition, Bac Giang province has suspended the construction of project items "Urban Area No. 2,3 next to Vietnam - Korea Vocational College of Technology" without a decision approving the results of the environmental impact assessment report within 09 months (270 days) to correct violations according to regulations from the date of this Decision.

Thanh Do Bac Giang Construction Joint Stock Company has its main address at the Industrial Cluster, Cau Chay Street, Dinh Tri Commune, Bac Giang City, Bac Giang Province. The business registration certificate of the joint stock company with enterprise code 2400375134 was issued by the Business Registration Office of the Department of Planning and Investment of Bac Giang Province, first registered on April 12, 2007, registered for the 15th change on March 3, 2022.
