Also attending were Minister, Chairman of the Ethnic Committee Hau A Lenh, leaders of ministries, branches, central agencies and Lam Dong province.

Previously, in April 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council, launched a national emulation movement to join hands to "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" in 2025.

The movement aims to mobilize the construction and repair of 170,000 houses for poor and near-poor households nationwide, thereby completing the task of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide by 2025.

According to the leaders of Lam Dong province, in the past time, the province has developed a plan, actively responded, and mobilized resources to participate in and implement the emulation movement launched by the Prime Minister. To date, the Lam Dong Fatherland Front has received 22 billion VND in support of the movement.

Currently, Lam Dong's multidimensional poverty rate is about 3.16% (lower than the national and Central Highlands average). Of which, there are about 1,972 poor households, poor households that need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the two years 2024-2025.

At today's reception ceremony, Lam Dong province leaders received support from sponsors and benefactors with a total amount of 41 billion VND.

Moved to witness the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised and appreciated the noble gesture of the sponsors and benefactors, contributing to the emulation movement of the whole country joining hands to "eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" in 2025, demonstrating the noble humanitarian spirit and fine traditions of our society.

The Prime Minister stated that this is an emulation movement to implement the Party and State's guidelines and policies on ensuring social security, with a consistent viewpoint that considers people as the center, subject, goal, resource, and driving force for development, without sacrificing progress, fairness, social security, the environment, and harmonious development to pursue pure economic growth, leaving no one behind.

With the goal of completing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide by 2025 - the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country, the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, and the reunification of the country, this movement is being implemented and supported by ministries, branches, localities, and philanthropists.

The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to coordinate with localities to review the data on temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide; localities to prepare land and premises, contribute labor and efforts with the entire political system, the entire population, central agencies and sponsors to implement the program with the goal of not letting anyone live in temporary or dilapidated houses.

The Prime Minister emphasized the need to innovate the way of implementing the movement to mobilize the combined strength with the spirit of "the whole leaf covers the torn leaf", "the less torn leaf covers the more torn leaf", promoting the positivity, proactiveness, self-reliance and self-reliance of localities and the cooperation of everyone, every household, every level, every sector, with the viewpoint that "resources originate from thinking, motivation originates from innovation, strength originates from the people".

The Prime Minister hopes that businesses, sponsors and philanthropists will continue to promote and contribute to this movement to the best of their ability.

* Earlier, the same morning, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited Vietnamese Heroic Mother Tran Thi Thung (residing in Ward 9, Da Lat city, Lam Dong province).

Kindly inquiring about the health of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Tran Thi Thung, the Prime Minister affirmed that the Party, State and people always remember the contributions, sacrifices and great merits of policy families and people with meritorious services to the revolution.

The Prime Minister hopes that Mother Tran Thi Thung will take care of her health and continue to be a shining example, encouraging her children, grandchildren, and neighbors to preserve and promote revolutionary traditions, and actively contribute to the cause of building and developing her homeland and country.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also requested local Party committees and authorities to continue to care for the material and spiritual lives of policy families and meritorious people, demonstrating the nation's morality of "When drinking water, remember its source".
