Groundbreaking ceremony of logistics project serving import and export goods at Huu Nghi Border Gate

The project of a general commercial business area, warehouse, yard, goods transfer and logistics services has been started at Huu Nghi Border Gate, Keo Kham Area, Dong Dang Town, Cao Loc District, Lang Son Province.

The groundbreaking ceremony of the Project of General Commercial Business Area, Warehouse, Gathering Yard, Goods Transfer and Logistics Services organized by Khang Viet Ha Joint Stock Company took place solemnly at Huu Nghi Border Gate, Keo Kham Area, Dong Dang Town, Cao Loc District, Lang Son Province on the morning of November 26, 2024.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Khang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Khang Viet Ha Company - representative of the Project Investor, said that the modern and synchronous logistics service area will be an important bridge in the cross-border goods supply chain, contributing to promoting Vietnam - China trade, creating breakthroughs in developing logistics infrastructure in border gate areas, expanding cooperation opportunities for domestic and foreign enterprises.

The project identifies three key objectives.

One is to optimize the process of gathering, storing, and transferring goods quickly and efficiently;

Second, facilitate the flow of goods from northern industrial zones through international border gates;

Third, it contributes to reducing logistics costs, increasing the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods, and promoting the development of local and border economies.

“We aim to build modern infrastructure, apply smart logistics, aim for sustainable development, bring long-term benefits to the locality by creating more job opportunities, increasing budget revenue and improving economic and social life,” Mr. Khang committed at the groundbreaking ceremony.

Huu Nghi International Border Gate, with its strategic location on the important economic corridor connecting Vietnam with China and ASEAN countries, not only plays the role of a hub for goods trading but also a symbol of cooperation, integration and development, while contributing to the sustainable economic development of Lang Son province. According to Mr. Vu Quang Khanh , Deputy Head of the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone, the province is focusing on implementing a plan to synchronously implement logistics services to shorten the time for inspection, control, loading and unloading, and transit of goods across the province's border, thereby improving the capacity of goods clearance.

“We appreciate the vision and determination of Khang Viet Ha Company in grasping and concretizing the policy of the Government as well as Lang Son province in investing in developing logistics trade services in the area. The project will contribute to exploiting the potential advantages of the province in association with the development of the Huu Nghi International Border Gate area, bringing practical benefits to investors, and at the same time, together with other projects operating in the area, it will have positive contributions in gathering, collecting, transferring, storing, and distributing raw materials and goods from Huu Nghi International Border Gate to supply the domestic market and vice versa,” said Mr. Khanh.

Witnessing the ceremony was also the representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the Import-Export Department. Mr. Hai shared: “The draft Vietnam Logistics Development Strategy, which the Ministry of Industry and Trade is advising and submitting to the Government for promulgation in the near future, also emphasizes the development of logistics infrastructure in key localities and areas such as border gate areas, including Lang Son and Huu Nghi border gate. Logistics centers need to determine the goal of not only meeting the scale, but also aiming to apply smart technology, ensuring environmental friendliness and reducing emissions”.

The project of a general commercial business area, warehouse, yard, goods transfer and logistics services invested and operated by Khang Viet Ha Joint Stock Company is located 1.2 km from Huu Nghi Border Gate. This is a key location in connecting the border gate economic corridor.

Some main services of the Commercial Complex, warehouse, assembly yard, freight transfer and logistics services after completion:
Logistics services business:
– Organize transportation and shipping of goods from manufacturers to consumers in various forms; Collect/deliver goods and containers to shippers.
– Distribute goods to different addresses, keeping goods ready when required (inventory level).
– Temporary storage of goods and containers while waiting for customs inspection and waiting for sending/receiving goods.
– Loading/unloading shared or single-owner containers in cases where there are no conditions for transportation or import-export procedures at factories or industrial parks.

Providing bonded warehouse services – customs inspection:
– Transport and store goods from border gates to bonded warehouses and vice versa.
– Types of services that must be performed in bonded warehouses: Consumption brokerage for goods stored in bonded warehouses; Inspection and insurance brokerage; Recycling, reinforcing packaging, repackaging, maintenance and repair of goods.
– Consulting and implementing procedures for transit of goods; Carrying out customs inspection and quarantine procedures for imported and exported goods entering and leaving bonded warehouses.
