(NLDO)- Security cameras show that a 7-seat car traveling on the right side of the road crashed into a section of the guardrail and then plunged into a ditch, overturning, killing 7 people.
On the evening of January 30 (the second day of the Lunar New Year), Nam Dinh Provincial Police quickly reported on a particularly serious traffic accident that occurred on National Highway 21, passing through Nam Dinh City, Nam Dinh Province, killing 7 people and injuring 2 others in the afternoon of the same day.

According to Nam Dinh Provincial Police, the initial preliminary cause was that the car was moving at a slow speed, the driver turned right, hit the road railing and plunged into the ditch, without colliding with people or other vehicles.
Security cameras show that before the accident, the white 7-seater car was traveling at a moderate speed, staying close to the right side of the road. After avoiding a large tree on the side of the road, the car hit the guardrail, plunged into the ditch, and flipped over.

Although people nearby quickly jumped into the water to save people immediately after the accident. However, due to the force of the water outside, it was difficult to open the door. By the time people broke the door to get inside, they could only save 2 people.
The particularly serious traffic accident was determined to have occurred at around 3:00 p.m. on January 30, at Km153+500 National Highway 21 in Nam Van Ward (Nam Dinh City).
At that time, the car driven by Ms. NTD (born in 1964, residing in Dien Bien ward, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi; driving license class B1) with license plate 30G-156.xx (7-seat type) was traveling on National Highway 21 from Co Le town to Nam Dinh city. When reaching the above area, the car crashed into a ditch next to the road.

The accident resulted in 7 deaths at the scene, including: Ms. NTD (the driver), Mr. N.D.C. (born in 1956, Ms. D.'s husband), Ms. NNA (born in 1989, Ms. D.'s daughter), TNMK (born in 2017, Ms. A.'s son), Mr. NVT (born in 1986, residing in Thanh Oai, Hanoi), Ms. D. (born in 1991, Mr. NVT's wife), and NQM (born in 2023, address unknown).
The two injured people were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment: Ms. NNQ (born in 1991, daughter of Ms. D.), and her nephew NND (a 6th grade student in Hanoi).
On the same evening, immediately after receiving the information, Secretary of Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee Dang Khanh Toan visited and encouraged the injured victims in the particularly serious traffic accident in the Nam Van bridge area. Here, Mr. Toan requested the functional forces to closely coordinate with the localities to create maximum conditions in terms of procedures and documents in accordance with regulations for the families of the victims who died in the accident to organize the funeral; requested Nam Dinh Provincial General Hospital and Nam Dinh Provincial Children's Hospital to concentrate maximum equipment and human resources to promptly treat the injured.
To support the victims’ families to overcome the immediate consequences of the accident, Nam Dinh province supported each deceased victim with 10 million VND; each injured person with 5 million VND; Giao Thuy District People’s Committee and Nam Dinh City supported the families of the deceased victims with 7 million VND/person, and the injured victims with 5 million VND/person.
