On the afternoon of January 30 (the second day of Tet), the Traffic Police Department - Ministry of Public Security reported on a particularly serious traffic accident that killed 7 people on the spot in Nam Dinh province.

According to initial information, the incident occurred at 3:00 p.m. the same day at Km 153+500 National Highway 21, passing Nam Van Bridge, Nam Dinh Province.
At that time, Ms. NTD (born in 1964; residing in Ba Dinh District, Hanoi) was driving a 7-seat car towards Voi Bridge - Nam Dinh City. The car was carrying 8 other people, including: NNQ (born in 1991), N.D.C. (born in 1956), NNA (born in 1989), TNMK (born in 2017), NVT (born in 1986) and a woman named D. (born in 1991) and 2 children of unknown identity.
At the above location, the car plunged into the river, killing 7 people at the scene and injuring 2 people who were taken to the emergency room.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by Nam Dinh Provincial Police.
