Khanh Hoa approves Urban Development Program to 2030, vision to 2045
The total funding requirement for the implementation of the Khanh Hoa Province Urban Development Program to 2030 (from total social investment capital) is estimated at about VND 1,299,000 billion.

Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has just approved the Urban Development Program of Khanh Hoa Province to 2030, with a vision to 2045. The goal is to synchronously and effectively implement programs and projects to realize the goal of Resolution No. 09-NQ/TW of the Politburo, aiming to 2030 for Khanh Hoa to meet the criteria of a class I urban area - a city directly under the Central Government.
By 2030, Khanh Hoa will be a centrally-governed city with 9 district-level administrative units (2 cities, 2 towns, 3 districts and 2 counties).
The urbanization rate by 2025 will reach 65%. Nha Trang city will complete 100% of the criteria and standards for a type I urban area in the province, and suburban communes will strive to complete the standards for infrastructure development levels of inner-city wards. Cam Ranh city will basically meet some of the standards and criteria of a type II urban area. Ninh Hoa town is a type IV urban area, continuing to strive to upgrade urban quality, basically meeting some of the criteria of a type III urban area. Urban construction land is forecast to reach 28,190 hectares (including the current land in 2022 of 8,244 hectares), accounting for 5.4% of the province's natural land area. The population density of the inner city area calculated on urban construction land area is over 10,000 people/km2, striving to reach 11,000 people/km2. The average housing area is 28.2/person. The ratio of traffic land to urban construction land is 16% to 20%. The rate of urban wastewater treated to meet technical standards is over 40%...
In the period of 2026 - 2030, Khanh Hoa continues to complete the criteria of a type I urban area - a centrally-run city; the affiliated urban areas focus on implementing projects to create momentum for socio-economic development, complete low criteria and standards according to the planned urban type, deploy the establishment, recognition, and upgrading of a number of urban areas.
Specifically, Nha Trang city continues to be a type I urban area; establish inner-city wards on the basis of suburban communes that have met the standards for urban infrastructure development level. Cam Ranh city completes the criteria for a type II urban area; at the same time, basically meets the standards for urban infrastructure development level applicable to the area planned to establish a district. Ninh Hoa town completes the criteria for a type III urban area; at the same time, basically meets the standards for urban infrastructure development level applicable to the area planned to establish a district. Dien Khanh town is a type IV urban area. Van Ninh town will be established, meeting the requirements for a type IV urban area and inner-city wards. Cam Lam district completes the criteria for a type I urban area, expected to be a city in 2029. Cam Duc town, Suoi Tan urban area and some affiliated communes complete the standards for urban infrastructure development level of inner-city wards...
The total funding requirement for the implementation of the Urban Development Program until 2030 (from total social investment capital) is estimated at about 1,299,000 billion VND. Of which, the period until 2025 is 549,053 billion VND; the period 2026 - 2030 is 749,947 billion VND.
