Opening of the 23rd Vietnam Poetry Day - 2025 in Thanh Hoa

On the evening of February 11, 2025, at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Cultural Area (Thanh Hoa City), the opening ceremony of the 23rd Vietnam Poetry Day in Thanh Hoa took place with the theme "The Fatherland flies up; Thanh Hoa strives to realize the aspiration for prosperity".

Attending the event were comrades: Dao Xuan Yen, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Dau Thanh Tung, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee; representatives of provincial departments and branches and leaders of Thanh Hoa City, along with many poets, writers and artists.

The 23rd Vietnam Poetry Day in Thanh Hoa province was organized at the provincial level, with the Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Association as the host, with the coordination and participation of 12 units and poetry clubs in the province with 15 poetry shops. This is a traditional activity imbued with national cultural identity; a festival to honor the beauty and achievements of Vietnamese poetry.

The 23rd Vietnam Poetry Day in Thanh Hoa is a festival of culture, poetry and poetry lovers in the province. Poetry Day takes place in the context of the Country and Homeland entering a new period; It is the year of holding Party congresses at all levels and the 20th Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, towards the 14th National Party Congress. This is a favorable opportunity for artists, including our poets, to demonstrate their civic responsibility, their responsibility as artists to the Homeland, Country and People.

Poets have always closely followed the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, and practical life to create tens of thousands of poetic works each year. Many poets have created works of high ideological and artistic value, won high prizes in competitions and specialized awards, and left an impression on the public.”

In 2003, with the consent of the Central Committee for Ideology and Culture and the Ministry of Culture and Information of Vietnam, the Vietnam Writers' Association decided to take the 15th day of the first lunar month every year as Vietnam Poetry Day.

Vietnam Poetry Day was established to honor and promote poetic values ​​to poetry lovers nationwide; to recognize the contributions of poets to society. Through 22 times of organization at the national and local levels nationwide, with the response and participation of Thanh Hoa, Vietnam Poetry Day has been constantly improved to become more and more creative, becoming an annual cultural event that is widely anticipated by the public. At the same time, Vietnam Poetry Day has also left deep impressions on many friends and poetry lovers.
