After the success of Minh Viet Academy (MVA), Mr. Pham Tuan Anh, founder of MVA, decided to open MVSM with the goal of teaching advanced math with supplementary English from American teachers via Zoom software, with low tuition fees for Vietnamese students. The goal is to inspire a love of math, help students not be afraid of learning math, and know how to apply math to solve problems in life.
Leading mathematics professors in Vietnam: Ha Huy Khoi, Phung Ho Hai, Tran Van Nhung... attended the opening ceremony of MVSM
In 2019, Minh Viet LLC launched its first project, MVA, a pioneering school in the field of online education in Vietnam. After 4 years of operation, the school has had 3 levels of education with a stable number of about 2,500 students. MVA students study both general education programs at schools in Vietnam and at the same time study American general education programs in the evening with 100% American teachers and many additional learning programs.
On November 4, in San Diego (USA), MVSM and The Art of Problem Solving Company, abbreviated as AoPS (USA), a number 1 mathematics community with more than 900,000 members, signed a cooperation agreement. Accordingly, AoPS will provide complete learning materials for Vietnamese students studying MVSM, as well as teacher training and all the learning resources they have collected over the past 20 years. MVSM students will be able to access math forums, problems, etc. on the AoPS website.
In the first school year 2023 - 2024, MVSM will open advanced math classes in English for primary school students from grades 1 - 5 (ages 5 - 13) and supplementary English classes (4 levels). MVSM plans to open more junior high and high school classes in the future.
100% of MVSM teachers are American teachers, graduated from prestigious universities such as: Berkeley, Columbia, Harvard... (with Vietnamese teaching assistants). Students will study online via zoom or watch videos.
Advanced math classes in English with AoPS's curriculum are designed like a comic book with many puzzle games, arranging lessons from easy to difficult, stimulating curiosity, helping children not to be afraid of math, while training thinking, intelligence, and problem solving.
Students study 1 session/week with tuition of 5 million VND/year. The school will consider supporting families in difficult circumstances.

On the sidelines of the event, Professor Ngo Bao Chau commented that in the context of globalization, international cooperation in mathematics education is very important. Because, with tested and recognized programs, effectiveness like the AoPS program will help us be much less tired. Building an advanced mathematics program is not easy and cannot be done in a day or two. "Therefore, the fact that we have the right to use an advanced mathematics program in English like AoPS for Vietnamese students is what helps shorten the path to mathematics development," Professor Ngo Bao Chau shared.
MVSM founder Pham Tuan Anh said: MVSM follows the "pyramid math teaching" model. Students who like or are not afraid of learning math will form the large bottom of the pyramid. Next are students with better math ability who will be chosen to learn more difficult lessons and at the top are students with real math talent. MVSM advocates designing a flexible program so that learners, in addition to pursuing math at low to high levels, can switch to pursue different math subjects depending on the development needs of each individual student.
