Wales Deep Sleep Hotel is located at a depth of 419m, including four cabins with two double beds and a "romantic room" built into the cave.
Opened in April, Deep Sleep is dubbed the "deepest hotel on the planet" and is located 419m below the abandoned Cwmorthin slate mine in Snowdonia, Wales. The hotel has wifi and a small stream in the mine.

The hotel has a dining area, simple toilets, four twin cabins and a "romantic room" with a double bed and cotton sheets. The lighting fixtures are all low voltage, powered by 12v batteries. The hotel is only open once a week, from Saturday evening to Sunday morning. Cabins cost £350, the "romantic room" costs £550.
Because it is located deep underground, the surrounding temperature is always around 10 degrees Celsius. The hotel owner has added a thick layer of insulation so the room is very warm. Guests are still advised to bring warm clothes, dress neatly, and be convenient for moving around.
To get to the hotel, visitors must go through an "underground adventure". The trip starts at 5pm at Tanygrisiau base, near the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. After a 45-minute walk to the mountain where the abandoned quarry is located, visitors begin their journey down the mine shaft to the hotel. Everyone must wear helmets, protective gear such as lights, ropes, and specialized boots to walk through dark, slippery, bumpy roads and climb stairs and cross old bridges.

"There are over 80km of tunnels under the mine. If you get lost, you will starve to death before you find the exit," said Nick Meakins, a manager at Go Below, which manages the hotel. Guests are required to have a guide with them. Along the way, the guide will introduce guests to the history of the mine as well as the mountain range to keep them from getting bored.
The hotel does not accept children under 14 years old. Children 14 years old and older must be accompanied by an adult. Also due to its special location and difficult access, the hotel serves simple meals including some types of meat, vegetables, vegetarian food, bread, milk, and cakes instead of being as elaborate as other places. However, guests can bring additional food and drinks. Guests must book online in advance because the number of rooms is limited.

Miles Moulding, CEO of Go Below, said the aim was to appeal to guests who were adventurous and wanted something different. "I wanted to come up with an idea that no one else was doing. There's nothing like Deep Sleep in the UK," he said.
