Mobility and Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO) testing for large-scale MIMO gNBs requires simulating real-world scenarios where multi-user devices (UEs) are spatially distributed and constantly moving. This process helps ensure the network’s ability to handle dynamic conditions while maintaining high performance.
Keysight now offers data-efficient test solutions
One of the biggest challenges in testing massive MIMO devices is managing inter-beam interference, which can significantly impact operational performance if not properly modeled. In addition, the complexity of beam shaping, channel modeling, and interference management in multi-cell environments requires a dedicated testbed capable of reproducing real-world conditions to verify network robustness.
Keysight’s Beam MIMO Detect and E2E MU-MIMO solutions provide a compact benchtop testbed that supports up to 64 two-way radio ports to simulate complex multi-user interference scenarios. By simulating real-world lab conditions with multiple spatially separated user devices, Mavenir successfully tested its 32TRX mMIMO technology. The testing included evaluating inter-beam and inter-cell switching capabilities, ensuring that Mavenir’s mMIMO solution delivers robust and optimal performance for a superior user experience.
“This collaboration demonstrates our commitment to technology innovation,” said Kalyan Sundhar, vice president and general manager of Keysight’s Wireless Test Group. “Together with Mavenir, we are directly addressing the challenges in multi-user MIMO testing for MIMO gNBs. With Keysight’s advanced E2E MU-MIMO solutions, Mavenir will be able to deliver high-performance systems that meet the demands of next-generation telecommunications networks.”
