On the morning of January 16, the Ministry of Justice held a press conference and met with the press on the occasion of the Spring of At Ty 2025, informing about the results of judicial work in 2024 and key tasks of judicial work in the first quarter of 2025.

Completed 620,657 tasks, completed over 116,531 billion VND

In 2024, the work of THADS and monitoring the enforcement of administrative judgments (THAHC) achieved many outstanding results, such as: continuing to strictly and effectively implement the directives of the Party, National Assembly, Government, and Prime Minister related to THADS and THAHC work; THADS institutions continued to be perfected; coordinating to develop and submit to the Politburo for promulgation Regulation No. 183-QD/TW dated September 18, 2024 regulating the protection of agencies, organizations, and individuals performing public duties in investigation, prosecution, trial, and judgment enforcement activities.

Coordination with ministries, branches and local Party committees continues to be carried out promptly and closely, ensuring unified direction from the central to local levels, contributing to removing difficulties and obstacles arising in the execution process, improving the quality and effectiveness of THADS work. Thanks to that, THADS results in 2024 reached the highest level ever, especially in recovering assets in criminal cases of corruption and economics.

Specifically, in the results of THADS in 2024, THADS agencies have completed 620,657 cases, an increase of 45,838 cases (up 7.97%) over the same period in 2023; reaching a rate of 83.88% (up 0.62%) over the same period in 2023, 0.63% higher than the assigned target. In terms of money, more than VND 116,531 billion has been completed, an increase of more than VND 27,119 billion (up 30.33%) over the same period in 2023; reaching a rate of 51.84% (up 5.06%) over the same period in 2023, 5.39% higher than the assigned target.

THAHC results, 2024: State agencies and competent persons in state administrative agencies must execute 1,973 judgments and decisions (the number carried over from the previous period was 776, arising in the reporting period was 1,197), an increase of 559 judgments and decisions compared to 2023 (an increase of 73.7%); enforcement agencies have completed the execution of 896 judgments and decisions (an increase of nearly 54% compared to 2023).

In the coming time, the Ministry of Justice will continue to direct and organize the execution of judgments, ensuring the completion of assigned THADS targets in 2025; focusing on resolving key, complicated, and prolonged cases, promoting asset recovery in corruption and economic cases.

Improve the quality of appraisal of legal documents

In 2024, the Ministry of Justice, in coordination with the Government Office, ministries and branches advising the Government, will continue to spend a lot of time discussing and discussing legal work at regular Government meetings and 11 thematic meetings on law-making; helping the Government develop and submit to the National Assembly for approval the Law and Ordinance Development Program for 2025, and adjust the Law and Ordinance Development Program for 2024. At the same time, 28 laws will be passed at the 5th Extraordinary Session, 7th Session, 8th Session, 15th National Assembly. The Ministry of Justice alone has chaired, developed and submitted to the Government for approval of 3 laws, including the Capital Law (amended), 1 resolution at the 7th Session and 8th Session.

The appraisal of proposals for the development of projects and draft legal documents (DOLs) has focused on improving quality and speeding up progress; many appraisal opinions of the Ministry of Justice have been highly appreciated by agencies and persons with the authority to issue DOLs, being important opinions for deciding to issue documents, contributing to improving the quality of projects and drafts, ensuring conformity with the Party's guidelines, policies and guidelines, constitutionality, legality, consistency, synchronization and feasibility of the legal system. In 2024, the Ministry of Justice organized appraisals of 362 proposals for the development of projects and draft legal documents.

The work of inspecting, reviewing, and systematizing legal documents and codifying the legal system has been carried out with a focus, closely following reality and associated with improving the effectiveness and efficiency of law enforcement, discipline and order in the work of building and promulgating legal documents, contributing to ensuring the constitutionality, legality, unity, feasibility, transparency and accessibility of the legal system, creating favorable conditions for agencies, organizations and individuals in applying and implementing the law. In particular, the Ministry has advised on the effective implementation of the activities of the Steering Committee for reviewing and organizing the handling of difficulties in the legal system (formerly the Steering Committee for reviewing and handling difficulties in the legal system) to promptly review and handle difficulties and inadequacies in legal regulations to promptly remove difficulties arising in practice, hindering development...
