On April 18, at Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of Thai Binh Provincial Party Committee held a meeting on the implementation of the Project to merge two provinces and the Project to rearrange commune-level administrative units of Hung Yen and Thai Binh provinces according to the instructions of competent authorities.

Speaking at the conference, Hung Yen Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Huu Nghia informed about the merger of Hung Yen and Thai Binh provinces under the guidance of the Central Government to aim for long-term stability, ensure the efficiency, effectiveness and efficiency of the local government apparatus; promote the potential and advantages of each locality and the country in general.

The Secretary of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee requested specialized departments and agencies to review the current technology status between the two provinces and digitize relevant documents for effective shared use; not waiting until the merger is completed to implement.

On the other hand, the professional departments of the two provinces received the delegates' opinions to complete the two Projects and report to the competent authorities within the prescribed time.

The Secretary of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee requested that the relevant agencies carefully study the regulations and instructions of the competent authorities to minimize the impact on officials when they work in the new province; the merger process requires unity and solidarity to bring the new Hung Yen province to prosperity and better serve the people and businesses.

The welfare and social security regimes that the two provinces are implementing for the people will continue to remain unchanged. If there are any changes, they must be implemented at the highest available level.

At the conference, Secretary of Thai Binh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Khac Than highlighted the potential advantages and characteristics of the province; emphasizing that Thai Binh is focusing on promoting solutions in attracting investment and developing the economy; is an attractive destination for domestic and foreign investors, annual economic growth is quite good, the material and spiritual life of the people is increasingly improved.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Than outlined a number of tasks, goals, and main development orientations of Thai Binh province in the coming term, focusing on developing Thai Binh Economic Zone to become a driving force for economic growth and development of the province.

The Secretary of Thai Binh Provincial Party Committee also said that Thai Binh focuses on implementing the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus in accordance with the direction of the Central Government.

Regarding the merger of Thai Binh and Hung Yen provinces, Thai Binh province focuses on implementing tasks and work in accordance with the Central Government's direction and the set plan.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Yen province Tran Quoc Van said that currently, Hung Yen has fully prepared convenient accommodation and meals, meeting the standards for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of Thai Binh province who need to work in the new Hung Yen province; in the immediate future, the new province will provide financial support for this.

At the conference, delegates from the two provinces spoke about many issues related to organizational structure, information infrastructure, use of headquarters and public assets, security and order assurance, construction of inter-provincial works, criteria and standards in staff arrangement, etc.

After the reorganization, Hung Yen province has a natural area of ​​2,514.81 km2, a population of 3,567,94 people; it is expected to have 104 communes and wards; the political-administrative center of the new province is located in the current Hung Yen province.
