Arriving at the 414th Engineer Brigade on the occasion of the unit promoting the second phase of the emulation movement in 2023 and the peak emulation period to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Uncle Ho's call for patriotic emulation, on the training ground of the 4th River Crossing Battalion, officers and soldiers of the unit enthusiastically practiced rescue plans and situations with modern equipment.

Officers and soldiers of Crossing River Battalion 4 trained to use QY-25E crane.

Attending the training of the 4th River Crossing Battalion, Colonel Mai Van Thanh, Brigade Commander, said: “In order to meet the requirements of the mission in the new situation, in recent years, the unit has been supplemented with modern equipment. Among them are many modern vehicles such as: QY-25E crane, 37m ladder truck, multi-purpose rescue vehicle (MAN) with 128 devices, new generation fire-fighting vehicle... serving the rescue mission. Therefore, in order for officers and soldiers to quickly "master" the use of these vehicles and equipment, the unit has made promoting positivity and proactiveness in mastering modern equipment a content of the Campaign”.

Training to master modern equipment.

Observing the training content of using a ladder truck to rescue victims in a high-rise building fire situation of Company 10, Crossing River Battalion 4, we could see more clearly the spirit of competition to master modern equipment of the officers and soldiers of the unit. In extremely complex terrain conditions that made it difficult for vehicles to approach the scene to rescue victims, but after only a short time, Captain Nguyen Dinh Huynh, the driver, controlled the ladder truck into the "combat" position. With immediate skillful operations, the crane was like an extended arm, bringing two soldiers to approach and rescue the victims...

During the break, talking with Captain Nguyen Dinh Huynh, we learned that he used to be a crane operator. When the unit received some modern equipment and techniques, he was appointed as a ladder truck driver. Initially, when he received this equipment, he was very worried and quite confused. But from the spirit of the Movement, after a period of active research and learning, he has now used this equipment proficiently and effectively. It is known that in order to use and "master" these modern equipment and vehicles, he and his teammates have gone through a process of tireless research and study. In addition to self-studying and learning through translated documents to master new equipment and technologies, on their days off, they also proposed to the unit to organize additional training on new and difficult content on modern equipment and vehicles; contact professional rescue centers to borrow research and study documents...

Rescue training for collapsed structures at the 414th Engineering Brigade.

After a period of receiving and researching modern equipment and machinery, officers and employees of the 414th Engineering Brigade have compiled training plans for each individual, group, and team on techniques and methods of using equipment in search and rescue in emergency situations, natural disasters, and fires such as: Training on using PMP ferries as bridges over rivers; using new types of technical equipment such as high-rise ladder trucks... to approach rescue scenes in firefighting situations, rescue of collapsed buildings...

Identifying the work of preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters as a combat mission in peacetime, with the spirit of selflessly serving the people and thanks to the effective use and promotion of modern equipment, the brigade has always been present in a timely manner in all conditions and situations to help people overcome natural disasters and catastrophes. Notably, each year the brigade participates dozens of times to help localities fight forest fires, conduct rescue operations, etc., which are highly appreciated by the Party Committee, government and people.
