The National Assembly Standing Committee spent 1.5 days at the 36th Session questioning Government members related to 9 areas.
Question and answer session took place from the morning of August 21 to the end of the morning of August 22; was broadcast live on Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam Television, and Vietnam National Assembly Television for voters and people to follow and monitor.
This morning, after National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man delivered the opening speech, Secretary General of the National Assembly and Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong presented a report summarizing the examination content of the National Assembly Council, National Assembly Committees, and a report on the opinions of the People's Petition Committee on the implementation of resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee on thematic supervision and questioning from the beginning of the 15th National Assembly term until the end of 2023.
After that, National Assembly deputies will question ministers and heads of sectors on the implementation of resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee on thematic supervision and questioning from the beginning of the 15th National Assembly term to the end of 2023 for the first group of fields, including the fields of: agriculture and rural development; industry and trade; culture, sports and tourism.
In the early afternoon, the question and answer session continued with the answers of ministers and heads of sectors on the above 3 areas.
From 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., ministers and heads of sectors will respond to the second group of sectors, including: justice; internal affairs; security, order, and social safety; inspection; court; and prosecution. This content will continue tomorrow morning.
The Deputy Prime Minister (authorized by the Prime Minister) will have 30 minutes to speak to clarify a number of related issues under the Government's responsibility.
The National Assembly Chairman then delivered a closing speech during the question and answer session.
At the end of the questioning session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will vote to pass a Resolution on questioning activities to serve as a basis for agencies to implement and for the National Assembly Standing Committee, National Assembly agencies, National Assembly delegations, and National Assembly deputies to supervise.
