The dialogue provides a platform for young people to contribute to climate action in Vietnam, promoting a shared commitment to sustainable development and climate resilience. This interaction will facilitate dialogue between young people and policy makers, ensuring that young people’s voices are heard and considered in climate decision-making.
During the discussion, speakers focused on sharing and exchanging opinions on the role of youth in participating in climate action, and solutions to promote the role of youth in participating in environmental protection and climate action.
At the panel discussion, speakers said that an important part of this process is to engage young people, who make up nearly 30% of Vietnam’s population. Due to their important demographic position, young Vietnamese people have the potential to contribute significantly to the decision-making process related to a just energy transition.
Some opinions at the discussion emphasized that by valuing the voice of young people, Vietnam can utilize the unique perspectives and creative ideas of young people to achieve meaningful progress in the process of equitable energy transition in Vietnam.
