
With the theme “Echoes of Dien Bien”, 12 contestants from secondary schools in the city introduced historical works, conveying to the audience books praising the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu; brave examples of the Vietnamese people and army who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation, touching stories about comradeship; stories about Uncle Ho, General Vo Nguyen Giap…
After the book introduction, the contestant will answer questions from the judges to evaluate the contestant's knowledge and understanding of the content of the introduced book.

Many of the contestants invested in elaborate performances, presented coherently with lively illustrations. The contest attracted a large audience to watch and cheer.
At the end of the competition, Le Thi Moc Mien, a student at Ly Tu Trong Secondary School, won the first prize. The second prize was awarded to Phan Nguyen Bao Tran, from Huynh Thuc Khang Secondary School. The organizing committee also awarded three third prizes and two individual prizes to the remaining teams.

The Tam Ky City Book Promotion and Introduction Contest for Young People is part of a series of activities in response to “Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day”, aiming to create a healthy and useful playground for students in the city to have the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to appreciate literature and their talent for promoting and introducing books through reading books, newspapers, and documents inside and outside of school.
At the same time, it affirms the importance of books in improving knowledge, encouraging and developing the reading movement in the community, forming reading habits in families, agencies, schools, and organizations, contributing to building a learning society.
