The Diplomatic Academy has just held a ceremony to introduce the book series "The Quintessence of Vietnamese Diplomacy: Perspectives from Ambassador, Professor, Dr. Vu Duong Huan", including four latest works published in 2024.
With the participation of former leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and former leaders of the Diplomatic Academy, Ambassadors, delegates, press representatives and a large number of students, the event not only aimed to honor the contributions of Ambassador, Professor Dr. Vu Duong Huan to the Diplomatic sector, but also to inspire research to the young generation of the Diplomatic Academy.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Hung Son, Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Academy, said that 2023 marks the 50th anniversary since Prof. Dr. Vu Duong Huan started working in the diplomatic sector.
During his more than half-century career, he has held many different positions and worked in many different locations, but the Diplomatic Academy is where he has been most closely associated through research, training, fostering, and as Director of the Academy and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of International Studies.
Up to now, although retired, he is still enthusiastically participating in research consulting and teaching for the Academy.
Along with generations of leaders of the Diplomatic Academy through the ages, he has made many important contributions to the development and prestige of the Diplomatic Academy, which generations of the Academy's staff are inheriting and striving to continue.

According to Dr. Nguyen Hung Son, each book, article, and scientific work of Prof. Dr. Vu Duong Huan is truly a valuable source of knowledge, containing his accumulation, conclusion, contemplation, and profound understanding of Vietnamese diplomacy and international relations through historical periods.
These works contribute to enriching Vietnam's diplomatic knowledge and are valuable learning and reference materials for future generations of officials and students of diplomacy.
The Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Academy emphasized: “The ceremony is an opportunity for us to express our gratitude for the important contributions and tireless dedication of Ambassador, Prof. Dr. Vu Duong Huan to the development of the Diplomatic Academy and the treasure of knowledge on international relations and diplomacy of our country.
This is also an opportunity to convey more directly and widely the quintessence of Vietnamese diplomacy to readers, especially the younger generation.
I believe that what Mr. Huan has summarized and conveyed in his books will continue to inspire many generations of diplomatic officials, students and those who love diplomacy."

At the ceremony, Ambassador, Prof. Dr. Vu Duong Huan had a meeting to introduce a series of books just published in 2024. These are: Vietnam's foreign policy 1945-1975 ; Basic issues of international relations theory ; Some issues of international relations, foreign policy and diplomacy of Vietnam (volumes 8 and 9).
Through each book, readers have the opportunity to understand more clearly and fully the history of Vietnamese diplomacy and the ingenious diplomatic strategies and tactics that have helped Vietnam achieve its current status, potential, position and prestige.
It can be seen that throughout his career, Ambassador, Prof. Dr. Vu Duong Huan has left behind a treasure trove of valuable knowledge. He has chaired 7 scientific research projects, including 2 state-level projects, and has 49 published books on international relations, foreign policy and Vietnamese diplomacy.
Through his research, Ambassador, Professor, Dr. Vu Duong Huan has contributed to portraying the identity and quintessence of Vietnamese diplomacy through the subtle and experienced lens of a veteran diplomat.

Although he has 23 books written by himself, 16 edited books and 10 books participated in, with 239 articles and scientific papers at domestic and international scientific conferences, he said that he has not stopped here but will continue his research projects in the future.
His passion is to systematize knowledge about international relations, foreign policy and Vietnamese diplomacy throughout history, both in theory and practice, through his books.
