Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy plans to collect an average tuition fee of 37.6 million VND per year, up from the current 24.6 million.
According to the enrollment plan on May 9, the maximum average tuition fee for the general program of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy next school year is 37.6 million VND per year. The school has not announced detailed tuition fees for each major.
This is slightly more than the average cost of training a student that the school announced is 36 million VND per year.
Previously, in 2022, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy planned to collect tuition fees for Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy at 44.1 million VND per year. Tuition fees for Traditional Medicine and Preventive Medicine are expected to be 39.2 million VND. Tuition fees for other majors range from 29.4 to 34.3 million VND. These levels are all higher than the tuition fee of 24.6 million VND in 2021.
However, at the end of this year, the Government requested localities and educational institutions not to increase tuition fees to support students, low-income households, and disadvantaged households, stabilize prices, and control inflation. Therefore, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy returned to applying the old tuition fees.

This year, the school enrolls 2,000 students, a decrease of 200 students compared to last year. Of which, the enrollment quota based on high school graduation exam results according to the B00 group (Math, Chemistry, Biology) is 1,387, ethnic reserve candidates are 68 and 454 candidates are under training contracts with provinces and hospitals.
For general candidates, the Medicine major recruits the most with 470 students. Next are Pharmacy (172), Dentistry (142), Traditional Medicine (141). The majors of Preventive Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, have the number of quotas of 53, 71 and 69 respectively. The remaining three majors are Midwifery, Medical Imaging and Public Health, which recruit the least, ranging from 20-27 quotas.
The school said it can adjust the quota by up to 20%. If there are many candidates with the same score, the school will give priority to the candidate with the higher Math score.
In 2022, the benchmark score of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy fluctuates between 20-25.6. The major with the highest benchmark score is Medicine, the lowest is Public Health.
