In the past 3-5 years, Logistics and Supply Chain Management has always been a hot major in many universities, causing the benchmark scores to increase continuously.
For example, in the method of considering high school graduation exam scores, in 2018, this major at the National Economics University had a benchmark score of 23.85, by 2019 it increased to 26 and from 2020 to now it has not been less than 28. Many schools also added this major to their training programs, such as Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, Economics (Hue University), Transport, Hanoi Industry (opening major in 2020), Van Lang (2021), Hanoi Construction, Dai Nam, Quy Nhon (2022)...
According to experts, this stems from the increasing demand for human resources in this industry. In February 2022, FAST500 - the ranking of the top 500 fastest growing enterprises in Vietnam, conducted by Vietnam report - showed that Logistics enterprises ranked second, just after Information Technology.
According to the 2022 forecast of the Vietnam Logistics Research and Development Institute, by 2030, Vietnam will need an additional 2.2 million workers in the logistics industry, 10% of which will be high-quality human resources with foreign language proficiency. Meanwhile, each year, only about 2,500 bachelors in this field graduate.
