1. Like many other households in Dang village, Bhalêê commune (Tay Giang), the family life of Ms. Avô Thị Bé (born in 1985) has long relied mainly on farming. Although the couple is very diligent in farming, they cannot escape the struggle to make ends meet.
Determined not to let poverty haunt her, Ms. Be boldly borrowed 20 million VND from the Tay Giang District Social Policy Bank to sell groceries at home.
Although she has income and income, her life has improved compared to before, but the matter of sustainable poverty reduction is still pending. While calculating the next step, she heard about a training course on farming and livestock techniques organized by the district, so Ms. Be registered to participate to gain experience. Through the training, she realized the potential in developing farming and livestock models. In 2021, she discussed with her husband to continue to register for preferential credit loans, plus a little savings from grocery stores to invest in raising native pigs, goats, and breeding cows.

After many years of hard work in caring for and multiplying the herd, Ms. Be's small farm now has nearly 40 sows and native black pigs, 15 cows, dozens of goats, chickens, and free-range ducks... In addition, she also planted 5 hectares of acacia trees to cover the bare hills, developing the forest economy. Each year, her family earns from 100-150 million VND. This is a dream number for a household in the highlands.
“The policy of hunger eradication and poverty reduction is not enough if only the government launches it. People must have the will to rise up, work hard, and develop the existing potential of the locality. With this in mind, I am setting an example for people to work together to do business and reduce poverty sustainably,” Ms. Be confided.
In addition to being good at business, Ms. Avo Thi Be is also a very active and enthusiastic Head of the Women's Association of Dang village. She is always the leader in all movements, ready to share knowledge and experience in farming, raising animals, building happy families... with female members.
Following Ms. Be's example, many women in this highland village no longer have the mentality of waiting and relying on others, but have worked diligently and boldly invested in effective economic models.
2. Ms. Bnục Thị Blạc - in R'cung village, Bhalêê commune (Tay Giang) got married in 2004 and has 2 children. Although the couple worked hard on the fields and worked for hire, they still could not escape poverty. Similar to the story of Ms. Avô Thị Bé, Ms. Blạc's process of rising up and starting a business also started with a small grocery store at home.

She saved money from selling goods to invest in a model of growing crops and raising livestock. Thanks to the local government's advice, technical guidance and how to choose seedlings suitable for local conditions, she planted acacia, cinnamon, and orange trees in each area of her family's garden.
With the motto "short-term to long-term", she intercrops cassava, corn and raises free-range chickens and ducks to supply the market. Currently, her family's garden economy brings in an income of more than 100 million VND per year and creates job opportunities for local people.
Continuing her success from gardening, Ms. Blak invested in additional means of transportation, specializing in transporting construction materials, leveling garden land, and hill land for people to do business.
She said that while people were gardening, she leveled the ground and gave advice on effective farming and animal husbandry. When people needed to share their experiences, Ms. Blak would enthusiastically welcome them and exchange the knowledge she knew with the motto of "giving people a fishing rod". For her, having more households doing business and doing business successfully would help improve their lives and contribute to building a new life in the highland villages.

During his lifetime, Uncle Ho considered poverty as an enemy. The effort to eliminate poverty is the determination to “drive” poverty out of society. Ms. Avo Thi Be and Ms. Bnuoc Thi Blac are pioneer “soldiers” on the front of sustainable poverty reduction. Each person has their own conditions, but what they have in common is the desire to rise up, eliminate gender prejudice and become rich legitimately.
Ms. Le Kim Vi - Vice President of the Women's Union of Tay Giang district said that following Uncle Ho's example, Avo Thi Be and Bnuoc Thi Blac are shining examples for the community to follow, promoting the movement "Women actively study, work creatively, build happy families" in Tay Giang district.
