(Dan Tri) - The music night "Hanoi concert: Winter concert" will take place on December 13 at the Hanoi Opera House to spread the love of classical music to a large audience in the capital, especially the young generation.
Hanoi concert: Winter concert organized by Hanoi Radio and Television. The program promises to bring the audience a night of classical music through the perspective and performance of young, passionate and ambitious artists.
Throughout the music night, there were performances by the Vietnam Youth Symphony Orchestra (VYO) and the Binh Minh Choir under the direction of Conductor - Dr. Phan Do Phuc, with arrangements by Singaporean musician Alex Oon and musician Dang Huu Phuc.
VYO is the first multinational youth symphony orchestra in Vietnam for young people aged 12 to 22, sharing a passion for music.
Launching to the public in 2022, VYO is where members discover the lifelong joy of playing music and become global citizens with a deep appreciation for the arts, regardless of future career choices.
Conductor - Dr. Phan Do Phuc (born 1990), has achieved many successes worldwide as a soloist, ensemble and orchestral musician.
He has been the principal cellist of many prestigious American and international orchestras such as Napa Valley Festival Orchestra, Pacific Music Festival Orchestra, New York Classical Player Orchestra, Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra.
In 2020, after graduating with honors with a PhD in cello performance from Stony Brook University (New York), Phan Do Phuc returned to Vietnam and took on the role of principal cello of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) and the Sun Symphony Orchestra (SSO).
Since 2022, Phan Do Phuc has been the first conductor of VYO. Recently, he became the Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Youth Music Institute (VYMI).
According to the program's organizers, the Winter Concert will introduce many classic works such as: Violin Concerto "Winter" - Chapter 1 by Antonio Vivaldi; Hungarian Dance No. 5 by the famous German composer Johannes Brahms; Sleigh Ride ...
And Vietnamese folk works: Threading the Needle , arranged by musician Tran Manh Hung for a symphony orchestra; Fragrant Flowers and Floating Butterflies bring familiar, warm melodies blended with the sound of a string orchestra.
Especially, with the winter theme, the program also brings familiar songs by musicians Trinh Cong Son and Pham Trong Cau, promising to create deep emotions, touching the hearts of music lovers.
Hanoi concert: Winter concert will be broadcast live on HN1, FM96, Hanoi On application and digital platforms of Hanoi Radio and Television.
