(Dan Tri) - The Vietnam Youth Symphony Orchestra and conductor Phan Do Phuc brought to the audience classical music works from home and abroad with emotional levels that were both touching and warm and joyful.
As part of the Hanoi Concert series, the Winter Concert program of Hanoi Radio and Television took place at the Hanoi Opera House on the evening of December 13.
The works were performed by the Vietnam Youth Symphony Orchestra (VYO) consisting of young multinational youth aged 12-22, the talented 9X conductor - Dr. Phan Do Phuc and the support of the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra and the Binh Minh Choir.
These are the world's emotional classic symphonies with Vietnamese folk melodies, compositions by Vietnamese authors in different periods, a harmonious blend of works for adults and children with messages about love, family, and life through the perspective of young people.

Opening the concert, the first movement of Vivaldi's Winter Concerto for Violin brought the audience to the harsh winter atmosphere and the spirit and bravery of people facing life's challenges.
Next up is the vibrant Hungarian folk dance tune by one of the greatest composers of the German Romantic period - Johannes Brahms with a special version for strings by VYO.
The familiar melody of the Vietnamese folk song Hoa Thom Buom Luong was first performed with the soulful sound of the string instrument, surprising many audiences. The audience also enjoyed Eine kleine Nachtmusik K. 525 , one of the most popular works by Wolfgang Amadeus.
Opening part 2, Sleigh Ride is a Christmas skit full of energy. With the same theme, Petersburger Schlittenfahrt (Sleigh Ride in Petersburg) by German composer Richard Eilenberg is the first work performed in Vietnam with the appearance of a series of percussion instruments.
Also in winter with the festive season, The Waltzing Cat by Leroy Anderson brings the image of a small corner in a warm house on a winter night, the image of a cat dancing by the fire is skillfully sketched by the author with the strings and woodwinds in the orchestra...
Threading the Needle , one of the most beautiful and familiar melodies of Vietnamese folk songs, was skillfully arranged by musician Tran Manh Hung for a symphony orchestra, showing the wonderful blend of chamber music and folk music.

The last series of songs about the capital and family by many Vietnamese authors were also given a new look, through the skillful arrangements of Singaporean musician Alexander Oon, such as: Hanoi People (musician Nguyen Dinh Thi), Lullaby for Winter (author and arranger Dang Huu Phuc), family suites including You are a little rose (musician Trinh Cong Son), For you (musician Pham Trong Cau), Life does not grow old because we have you (musician Trinh Cong Son)...
Especially the performance of the song "Reo vang binh minh" (musician Luu Huu Phuoc) with its joyful and clear sound made the audience clap their hands continuously.
Journalist Nguyen Kim Khiem, General Director of Hanoi Radio and Television Station, shared that each note and each melody is meticulously crafted, not only reflecting the intense passion of young artists but also conveying a source of inspiration filled with love for music.
"With that energy, the Winter Concert with warm and vibrant musical works has lit up the beautiful winter days of Hanoi. In addition to honoring top music, the Ha Noi concert series of Hanoi Radio has brought classical music closer and closer to the audience, spreading the love of classical music to the community," said Mr. Nguyen Kim Khiem.
