It was thought that the home field advantage and relaxed spirit would help the Thanh team win all 3 points, but the Ha Tinh team had a good match when they overcame the pressing style of the Thanh Hoa team, and the match ended with a score of 2-2.
After the match, Thanh Hoa coach Popov no longer complained about the refereeing like last season, perhaps because today's match used VAR technology.
Speaking to the press after the match, Mr. Popov said: "This was a difficult start to the season for us. The players were somewhat mentally unstable and could not perform to their best ability. The two goals conceded were partly the fault of the defense and we promptly made better adjustments in the second half, and had many scoring opportunities, especially at the end of the match, but could not take advantage of them."

Meanwhile, despite being rated lower before the match, Ha Tinh Club still left with 1 point. However, coach Nguyen Thanh Cong still expressed regret for not winning all 3 points.

In the second half, we also played with the goal of winning but also encountered many difficulties when the home team attacked. We had to try to play good defense and then organize counterattacks, and had opportunities to score but could not take advantage. The draw result was somewhat regrettable but it was an optimistic start to the season," said coach Nguyen Thanh Cong.
