The Vietnamese women's team won 3-1 against the Indian players on the afternoon of October 29, a timely victory to help coach Mai Duc Chung and his team regain their spirit before competing with the Japanese women's team in the final round of the Group C qualifiers.
The Vietnamese women's team greeted Vietnamese fans at the Lokomotiv stadium on the afternoon of October 29. |
Speaking after the match with the Indian team, coach Mai Duc Chung said: “I am very satisfied, not only with the score but also with the playing style and the way the whole team played. The players tried very hard. I want to praise the overall spirit of the whole team.”
Mr. Mai Duc Chung continued: “The Indian women's team has made progress. Before, we had not had the opportunity to meet in an official match but only in friendly matches. However, through this match, I saw that they had developed, but their coordination was still not good. Mainly, India still made long passes into the middle. It must be said that the Vietnamese women's team was alert to resolve many situations. Only once did we concede a goal.”
On November 1, the Vietnamese women's team will meet the Japanese women's team. Commenting on the final opponent in Group C, coach Mai Duc Chung said: "We will definitely have to prepare both mentally and physically. Through two matches, the Vietnamese women's team showed good physical strength when meeting Uzbekistan and India. We held the ball more, moved actively and had good endurance. I'm a bit sorry that the Lokomotiv pitch was not really good, so it affected the coordinated passes. The Japanese team played diversely. The players were even. The Vietnamese women's team must prepare for all situations. I think the first thing is that we just play our best."
He also thanked the Vietnamese fans in Uzbekistan who enthusiastically cheered for the team in the last two matches. “Although there were only about a dozen people, I was very touched. When the drums and the shouts of Vietnam rang out, I was truly honored and proud. The love of Vietnamese fans is truly precious. Thank you, Vietnamese fans, for always cheering for the women's team.”
