Coach Kiatisak was unexpectedly 'rescued'
Coach Kiatisak could have won the V-League championship as a coach when he helped HAGL play well in the 2021 season. That year, HAGL flourished with beautiful attacking football and led the tournament after 12 rounds, with 29 points, very favorable for the race to the finish line. Unfortunately, the tournament was canceled due to the Covid-19 outbreak. In the following seasons, many of HAGL's key players found new destinations, the squad was no longer as stable as before, so Coach Kiatisak could not help HAGL compete successfully.
After the 8th round of V-League 2023-2024, HAGL is at the bottom of the table with 5 points. The poor results of only 1 win, 2 draws and 5 losses have made the mountain town team struggle in the relegation race. Surprisingly, coach Kiatisak was "rescued" when he was transferred to take charge of the Hanoi Police Club (CAHN), handing over the HAGL team to coach Vu Tien Thanh. The poor performance of the CAHN team is part of the reason why coach Kiatisak joined this team. The goal set for the Thai coach is to help the CAHN Club play well - beautifully, attractively, attract audiences to the stadium and successfully defend the championship.
The fact that CAHN has used 3 coaches in just the first 8 rounds shows that the position of head coach of this team is not easy. Therefore, sitting in the "hot seat" is also a huge challenge for the Thai coach. If coach Kiatisak cannot meet the requirements of the team's leadership, he may soon have to leave like his predecessors.
Great advantage of having a 'star cast' in hand
It is a big challenge to sit in the "hot seat", but the new coach of CAHN Club also has a great advantage, which is that he has a team of quality players that no other team has. Coach Kiatisak's job is to manage these star players and put them in the right position to maximize each person's strengths.
With players that many clubs dream of such as goalkeeper Nguyen Filip, Vu Van Thanh, Nguyen Quang Hai, Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Ho Tan Tai, Geovane, Braga Elias..., Coach Kiatisak "has the dough to make the glue". In his first match with the team, Coach Kiatisak helped CAHN Club defeat Ho Chi Minh City Club 2-0 to rise to 5th place.
In the 10th round taking place at 6pm this afternoon (February 23), CAHN Club will go to Vinh Stadium to meet the host SLNA. This is truly a match that will test the leadership of Coach Kiatisak. SLNA often plays very well at home, and they are also in good form after defeating Binh Dinh Club 2-0 in the previous round. Therefore, if CAHN Club can get 3 points away from home, Coach Kiatisak and his team will have the opportunity to rise to 3rd place to compete for the championship.
In the current situation, due to the fact that strong opponents such as Hanoi FC and Viettel FC have unexpectedly declined in this year's tournament, Coach Kiatisak's team has become a rival to the top team Nam Dinh. Therefore, the only way for CAHN FC to squeeze into the top 3 is to put pressure on the team from Thanh Nam.
Accepting to leave his family in Thailand to work in Vietnam, besides financial issues, the title is what Coach Kiatisak is looking for. And of course, whenever he has the opportunity, he will seize it to enrich his collection. If he can conquer the V-League championship, it will also be the shortest way for Coach Kiatisak to return to the Thai team, because the new President of the Football Association of Thailand, Madam Pang, is very supportive of him.
Round 10 of V-League 2023-2024 takes place this afternoon (February 23). In addition to the match between SLNA and CAHN Club, the match between HAGL Club and Quang Nam Club is also worth noting. With their backs against the mountain, HAGL Club has no way back and Coach Vu Tien Thanh is forced to help HAGL win to improve their score. The remaining matches: Hong Linh Ha Tinh meets Khanh Hoa at 5:00 p.m.; Thanh Hoa meets Hai Phong at 6:00 p.m.; The Cong Viettel meets Binh Duong at 7:15 p.m.
