As a key traffic project with multi-dimensional impacts on the economy and society of Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces, the Ring Road 3 project has received special attention from Ho Chi Minh City and is being accelerated.
At the large construction site of the Ring Road 3 project, the entire system including investors, contractors, engineers, supervisors, workers, etc. all take turns working three shifts, four shifts, through the night and holidays.
During the holidays, when most people are enjoying precious time with their families, hundreds of people are still working diligently and hard at the construction site of Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 3.
Many workers said they were used to working at high intensity, on holidays as well as on weekdays, so they no longer felt sad. They were only sad when the construction could not keep up with the schedule due to factors such as weather, lack of construction materials, etc.
“If we miss our loved ones, we just call home to talk, ask about them and encourage each other. This project is not only a job but also our pride, it is each person’s contribution to the city and the country. We understand our responsibility so we always try our best,” a worker shared.
Mr. Le Dinh Hoang Chuong, Deputy Director of Project 1A, My Thuan Project Management Board, said that even though it was National Day, September 2, hundreds of workers and engineers were still working at the construction site.
Currently, the unit is carrying out the construction items of A1 pier reinforcement, P10 pier reinforcement, K3 P22 block concrete pouring, SPT beam installation span P36 - P37, CDM construction in Ho Chi Minh City...
Similarly, in construction package 3 carried out by contractor Dinh An, the unit still sticks to the construction site regardless of difficult weather or holidays.
Speaking to Giao thong Newspaper, a representative of Dinh An contractor said that the unit is implementing bored piles, substructure, beam casting, and weak soil treatment. In the near future, the units will complete procedures, coordinate the construction of the superstructure, and install beams.
“It is the rainy season, so construction is quite difficult. However, we are still trying to implement and ensure progress,” said a representative of contractor Dinh An.
For construction workers working during the holidays, this contractor will organize a party between units to encourage and boost their morale.
The Ring Road 3 project through Ho Chi Minh City is over 47km long, passing through Thu Duc City and Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon and Cu Chi districts with a total investment of over 41,000 billion VND.
The Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project started in June 2023 with 4/10 construction packages. To date, these packages have achieved about 20% of the volume. By January 2024, the remaining 6 construction packages have also been implemented.
Mr. Luong Minh Phuc, Director of the Traffic Construction Project Management Board (Traffic Board) said that the biggest difficulty of the project was the lack of sand to load the weak roadbed. However, after the efforts of Ho Chi Minh City, the sand difficulties have been resolved.
Accordingly, Vinh Long, Ben Tre, and Tien Giang provinces are speeding up sand licensing procedures with volumes meeting the demand and construction progress of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project. The Traffic Department and other units are striving to keep up with the schedule, basically completing the project by 2025 and opening the entire route to traffic in 2026.
The Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project connects 5 radial expressways including: Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong, Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai, Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh, Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay and Ben Luc - Long Thanh, not only playing a role in connecting 4 localities but also solving the problem of inter-regional connectivity in the future.
