In addition to the fine of VND91 million for 8 violations, Thanh Buoi bus company had its business license revoked for three months, according to the decision of the Inspectorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport.
The decision was made on November 3, five days after the Department of Transport Inspectorate issued a notice of violation against Thanh Buoi Company Limited, headquartered on Le Hong Phong Street, District 5. As such, this car company will be suspended from operation for 3 months, starting today.
Thanh Buoi bus company was administratively fined for 8 violations. The most serious of these was the failure to provide adequate health checks for drivers, with a fine of 22 million VND.
Five other violations, each fined VND11 million, include: having a management department to monitor safety conditions but not doing their job properly; not accurately updating vehicle records and driver records; having a travel contract and passenger list but not meeting requirements; not having a transportation contract or passenger list attached to the vehicle.
The remaining two violations, each fined VND7 million, include: not following safety procedures; operating passenger transport business under contract, tourism not in accordance with regulations on picking up and dropping off passengers at headquarters, branches, and representative offices.

This morning, at a meeting with transport units, Director of the Department of Transport Tran Quang Lam said that before making this conclusion, the Department had worked with relevant parties and considered it very carefully. "The decision to impose a fine will affect businesses and many workers behind it, but it needs to be handled to set an example, warn and correct," said Mr. Lam.
Thanh Buoi Company was established in March 2000, operating mainly in the field of passenger and cargo transportation. The enterprise is funded by two members: Mr. Le Duc Thanh contributed about 67.8 billion VND, holding more than 84.7% and Mr. Le Duong contributed 12.2 billion VND, holding nearly 15.3%. Mr. Thanh holds the position of director of the company, with a total of about 1,300 employees.
After more than 20 years of operation, Thanh Buoi passenger vans are chosen by many people when traveling because of their good service quality. In the Southern region, this bus company occupies a large market share on the routes of Ho Chi Minh City - Da Lat, Can Tho , Da Lat - Can Tho. These are the busiest routes, especially on weekends, holidays, and Tet when the demand for entertainment and tourism increases.
Previously, from October 29, Thanh Buoi bus company announced that it would stop carrying passengers on the route from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat, Can Tho and Da Lat - Can Tho. The company's suspension of hundreds of trips per day has affected the passenger transport market. The city has increased the number of buses by more than 100 on the route from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat and bus station businesses have also prepared plans to avoid a shortage of buses, affecting people's travel needs.
