On the morning of August 21, hundreds of parents from Nam Tu Liem district were present at the gate of Tay Mo 3 Primary School.

Students have to go to Ly Nam De Primary School (located in Mieu Nha, Nam Tu Liem) which is 4-5 km away from home, making it inconvenient to travel.

In response to the parents' reaction, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Tam, Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District, after receiving information about the incident at Tay Mo 3 Primary School, on behalf of the leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District, was present to apologize to the parents and request the school to issue applications for parents to register according to their wishes.

According to Ms. Tam, after receiving the application, the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem district will meet and arrange according to the principle of giving priority to children in the right school area and living near the school, then to the needs of parents in neighboring areas.

A representative of the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District said: Tay Mo 3 Primary School is a public school separated from Tay Mo Primary School and is for children of local residents. After separating grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and recruiting new grade 1 students, the total number of students at Tay Mo 3 Primary School is 30 classes, with 1,111 students, exceeding the target of 30 classes with a maximum of 1,050 students.

All students (grades 2, 3, 4, 5) separated from Tay Mo Primary School and newly recruited (grade 1) are students in Tay Mo ward according to the prescribed enrollment route (belonging to groups 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and the ungrouped building in the adjacent urban area of Tay Mo ward).

First grade students are recruited according to regulations, according to the right subjects that have been assigned to the zoning with a registration quota of 400. However, due to the rapid population growth rate, by the end of the enrollment period, the total number of students recruited exceeded the quota by 60 (with a total of 460 first grade students, divided into 13 classes). Cases that do not submit applications within the prescribed time are considered as not having a need.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem district, there are currently 3 main groups wishing to study at Tay Mo Primary School, including:

First, students in grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 from neighboring schools applied to transfer to the new school. According to a preliminary survey, Ly Nam De Primary School had 233 students applying to transfer;

Second, students from other provinces and districts have just moved to live in apartment buildings;

Third, students who entered grade 1 this year did not apply to the school during the 2024-2025 school year. According to the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District, among these students, there were some students who applied to other schools, but now that Tay Mo 3 School is in operation, they have withdrawn their applications to transfer back.
