According to Yonhap , South Korean police said on August 4 that an unidentified man stabbed a teacher at a high school in the central city of Daejeon and then fled.

The suspect, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, stabbed the teacher at a high school in Daedeok District in Daejeon, 139km from Seoul, at 10:03 a.m. on August 4 (local time). The victim, in his 40s, was found unconscious and taken to hospital.

Police later arrested the suspect in the attack. He is believed to be in his 20s or 30s and is an acquaintance of the teacher.

Although there is no connection, the fact that the two stabbings occurred within just two weeks is what makes Korean people feel uneasy.

"Whenever my children go abroad, I tell them to be careful when going to a country where people are allowed to own guns. But now, it's even scarier in Korea," said Lee Young-ja, 77, a Seoul resident.

"This area is where I go every day. After the stabbing incident on August 3, I feel anxious. I hope incidents like this will never happen again," said Choi Jun-ho, 25.

Threats to copy the crime are circulating on the Internet. About an hour after the incident, two threats to copy the attack were posted online.

And on the morning of August 4, new online posts threatened stabbings at Jamsil and Hanti stations in southern Seoul. South Korean police have launched an investigation to identify the posters and stepped up cyber security monitoring.

Regarding the car crash and stabbing incident near Seoul's Seohyeon subway station on August 3, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol directed all police forces to apply the toughest measures.

President Yoon Suk Yeol ordered the mobilization of all police forces in an effort to control the situation and reassure the people, while also ordering maximum security to avoid the risk of similar incidents recurring.

According to Yonhap news agency, on August 4, South Korean police said that the suspect who caused the car crash and stabbing incident in Bundang, southern Seoul on August 3 that injured 14 people, dropped out of high school due to social phobia before being diagnosed with schizoid personality disorder.

On the evening of August 3, suspect Choi, 22 years old, drove his car into passersby outside a store near Seohyeon subway station before attacking people inside with a knife.

Of the 14 injured, 12 are in critical condition. Rapid tests showed the suspect was not on drugs.

Gyeonggi Provincial Police, which is investigating the case, said the suspect also showed signs of delusional disorder, sometimes talking nonsense during police questioning and always having delusions of being threatened with attack and murder.

According to police, the suspect has mental problems and suffers from multiple complex disorders, and believes this condition led the suspect to carry out the above attack.

According to his family, after dropping out of school, he mostly stayed home and worked part-time jobs. He recently worked as a delivery man. On August 2, he went to a store near Seohyeon Station with the intention of committing a crime but did not act out of fear.

Police are still investigating the case further and will seek the suspect's arrest after further questioning to determine the exact motive.

Previously, on July 21, Cho Seon, a 33-year-old man, also carried out a stabbing attack near Sillim subway station in Seoul, killing one person before continuing to attack three others near the scene. Two days later, Cho Seon was arrested on charges of murder and attempted murder.
