So in just the first month of summer, audiences will be "treated" to a sumptuous anime feast with three names that have stirred up the Japanese box office: Haikyu!!: Battle of the Junkyard, Doraemon: Nobita and the Symphony of the Earth and Totto-chan: The Little Girl at the Window .

All three are films that made a big splash in Japan in late 2023 and early 2024, but it's only now that Vietnamese audiences have had the chance to access them.

This achievement helps Haikyu!!: The Scrapyard Battle enter the top 4 list of films with the highest opening day revenue of all time in Japan, behind the most famous names in the anime/manga industry such as Demon Slayer: Infinity Train (1.269 billion yen); One Piece Film: Red (1.232 billion yen); Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (1.072 billion yen).

Since its debut in 2012, Haikyu!! has become a classic brand among fans of anime/manga with sports and youth school themes.

The story of Haikyu!! follows Hinata Shoyo, a junior high school student who is passionate about volleyball despite his short stature, on his journey to conquer the pinnacle of his favorite sport with his teammates.

However, this film explores one of the final stages of the series, and is connected to the anime series, so it will be difficult for general audiences who do not follow Haikyu!! to access.

The next name to hit Vietnamese theaters near the end of May is Doraemon: Nobita and the Earth Symphony , this is the 43rd theatrical film of the Doraemon brand, and also the first movie with a music theme.

The film is scheduled to be released on May 24, a tribute to celebrate the 90th birthday of author Fujiko Fujio, the father of the robot cat that brought dreams to millions of children around the world.

At the end of May, Vietnamese audiences will welcome a familiar name, Totto-Chan: The Little Girl at the Window , an animated film adapted from the book of the same name by writer Tetsuko Kuroyanagi. The film is scheduled to be released on May 31 in Vietnamese theaters.

Composed in 1981, Totto-Chan at the Window caused a big stir not only in Japan but also around the world.

Published in Vietnam in 2011 through the translation of Truong Thuy Lan, Totto-Chan by the Window became a bedside book for a generation of readers, accompanying many people throughout their childhood.

The animated film adaptation premiered in Japan on December 8, 2023 and has excellently won 8.2/10 points from critics on IMDb, promising to bring tears to the eyes of theatergoers.
