Check-in Phu Yen, take pictures of the mountain and the school 'exactly like' Nobita's

A photographer in Phu Yen discovered some incredibly similar angles between the province’s landscape and the Doraemon comic. Since then, these locations have attracted many young people to come and take photos and explore.

The photo series was taken in Tuy Hoa City (Phu Yen) by author Thanh Nhan, with the image of Chop Chai mountain rising behind the houses of the city's residents looking exactly like the mountain behind the school of the character Nobita in the Doraemon comic series (Japan).

Author Thanh Nhan said he is a son of Phu Yen. The photo series posted on Facebook received thousands of likes from everyone. Thanh Nhan said that when he was a child, he often read Doraemon stories, so when he saw Chop Chai mountain, he immediately thought of the mountain behind Nobita's school.

“I am someone who loves to explore the beauty of Phu Yen. The camera angles are not only artistic inspiration but also my love for my homeland,” Nhan shared.

The check-in area is the grass field on Nguyen Van Huyen Street. From this location, visitors can take in the backdrop of Chop Chai Mountain.

Le Trung Tin (21 years old) said: “I watched a video on TikTok and saw many people reviewing Nobita’s school in Phu Yen, so I came here to take pictures. The scenery is very beautiful and peaceful with a field of clover flowers, and mountains in the distance. The weather in Tuy Hoa at this time is also very cool and sunny, perfect for creating beautiful photo sets.”

According to Phu Yen Provincial Library, Chop Chai Mountain is about 4km northwest of Tuy Hoa City center. From afar, Chop Chai Mountain looks like an upside-down conical hat, the shape of the mountain is like a giant turtle crawling towards the mouth of the Da Dien River. The mountain is 394m above sea level, has an area of about 530ha, has an average slope of 25 degrees, at a height of over 100m it is very steep, with majestic vertical cliffs.

The master plan for Tuy Hoa City and its vicinity until 2040 states that it will invest in and develop a botanical park and an agricultural park north of Chop Chai Mountain; build and create an urban space around Chop Chai Mountain associated with cultural and religious tourism activities and eco-tourism; develop a high-density mixed-use service area with commercial and service activities to exploit the advantages of the urban center and the gateway from the North-South expressway to the center of Tuy Hoa City.
