On January 8-9, officers and soldiers of agencies and units of Naval Region 3 transported goods and Tet gifts to visit and wish a happy new year to the people and officers and soldiers working on the outpost islands of the Fatherland. This is an annual activity of Naval Region 3.
Participating in the delegation were representatives of 35 focal points of localities, agencies, organizations, clubs, businesses and individuals; 49 reporters from 35 central, military and local press and radio agencies.
The working trip aims to organize patrols and manage the sea areas from Da Nang - Con Co, Con Co - Ly Son, Ly Son - Da Nang; visit and wish a Happy New Year to officers and soldiers of Radar Station 540 on Con Co Island (Quang Tri Province) and Radar Station 550 on Ly Son Island (Quang Ngai Province) under Regiment 351, Naval Region 3, the government, people, and armed forces units on Con Co and Ly Son islands.

In addition, officers and soldiers of Naval Region 3 will implement the program "Vietnam Navy as a support for fishermen to go offshore" with activities of giving gifts (firearm jackets, national flags, ship mooring ropes, etc.); organizing propaganda and dissemination of laws to fishermen on Con Co and Ly Son islands.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Head of Logistics - Engineering (Naval Region 3) said that in addition to the prescribed standards, officers, soldiers and people on the island also received meaningful and valuable gifts from the Ministry of National Defense, the Navy, the Naval Region 3 Command, and many localities, political and social organizations, businesses and individuals.
"Along with common necessities such as sticky rice, dong leaves, green beans, ham, vermicelli, dried bamboo shoots, candy, soft drinks..., soldiers and people on the islands are often happy to receive gifts with the strong flavor of the mainland or products from many localities such as Tet jam, dried tea, coffee, melon, orchids, peach blossoms... Tet goods and gifts not only contribute to helping soldiers and people on the islands prepare for Tet more fully, but also have great spiritual significance," said Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Manh Hung.

According to Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Tien, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Naval Region 3, the annual visit and New Year greetings to Con Co and Ly Son island districts is a journey to arouse the sentiments, awareness and responsibility of provinces, cities, agencies, departments, as well as all classes of people in preserving the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland, effectively implementing the strategy of socio-economic development, national defense and security of the country. The concern and sharing between the rear and the front, between the mainland and the remote islands will contribute to encouraging officers, soldiers, soldiers and people on the islands to work, live and celebrate the Lunar New Year with peace of mind, warmth and happiness.
With the motto "the mainland towards the distant islands," especially actively responding to the Campaign "For the homeland's sea and islands - For the frontline of the Fatherland," in the past 10 years, the Naval Region 3 Command has coordinated to organize more than 300 delegations of provinces and cities in the Central coastal region, businesses, organizations, individuals inside and outside the military... with more than 3,500 delegates visiting, giving gifts, and encouraging officers, soldiers and people on Con Co and Ly Son islands. |
