This is one of the practical and effective activities of the Vietnamese and Cambodian navies during the 77th joint patrol that just took place.
On the morning of December 21, Ship 263, Brigade 175, Command of Region 5, Vietnam People's Navy docked at the port of Region 5 (Kien Giang), ending the 77th joint patrol with Ship 1143 of Ream Sea Base, Royal Cambodian Navy.
Previously, on December 20, in the historical waters of Vietnam - Cambodia, Ship 263 and Ship 1143 conducted the 77th annual joint patrol according to the Regulations on joint patrol coordination and establishment of a communication channel between the Vietnam People's Navy and the Royal Cambodian Navy signed by the Commanders of the two navies on September 14, 2002.

During the patrol, the two sides conducted the ASEAN Hello ASEAN greeting procedure; exchanged information; practiced hand flags, practiced the use of the Code of Conduct for Unplanned Encounters at Sea of the Western Pacific Navies (CUES) and practiced search and rescue.
During the patrol, through communication channels, Ship 263 and Ship 1143 actively propagated and mobilized fishermen of the two countries to strictly comply with laws and regulations when exploiting seafood at sea, and not to infringe upon the sovereignty of other countries.

Lieutenant Colonel Bui Duc Dong, Deputy Brigade Commander, Chief of Staff of Brigade 175, commander of the Vietnam Navy patrol ship, said: During the joint patrol, the two countries' naval ships coordinated to fully implement the contents according to the plan, ensuring seriousness, quality, efficiency, and absolute safety.

With careful preparation and close coordination, the 77th joint patrol between Ship 263 and Ship 1143 was a great success. Thereby, it contributed to maintaining security, order, peace and stability in the historical waters of Vietnam - Cambodia; at the same time, continuing to consolidate and develop the cooperative relationship, enhancing mutual understanding and trust between the two navies.
