This morning, August 10, the Naval Region 4 Command coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to organize the program "Vietnam Navy as a support for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea" in 2023 for 80 fishermen who are ship owners and captains of fishing boats in Phuoc Hoi ward, La Gi town.
Attending the event were Colonel Nguyen Xuan Dung, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of Region 4, and representatives of leaders of a number of relevant departments, agencies and branches.
At the program, the reporter of Region 4 disseminated to fishermen about the law on exploitation and fishing at sea, especially Directive 45 of the Prime Minister; introduced topics on the Law of the Sea of Vietnam 2012. At the same time, he instructed fishermen on prohibited acts and how to handle certain situations at sea.
On this occasion, the Military Medical Corps of Region 4 also organized medical examinations and provided free medicine to 50 people; presented 1,000 national flags, 50 buoys, 50 life jackets, 10 gifts to fishing families in especially difficult circumstances and more than 70 gifts to fishing families in Phuoc Hoi ward, distributed 500 sets of documents, 300 leaflets to propagate regulations on exploitation and fishing at sea.
The program aims to improve the quality and effectiveness of propaganda and dissemination of laws on seas and islands; support and help fishermen in Binh Thuan to exploit seafood safely, sustainably and legally; create a deep bond between Navy officers and soldiers and fishermen, contributing to building a position of people's hearts at sea.
