Support businesses to comply with the law

Implementing the task of developing the Customs - Business partnership and related parties according to the goals of the whole industry, in 2024, Da Nang Customs Department will focus on 6 groups of transformations: transformation in approach; transformation in expanding the scope and composition of partnership participants; transformation in the way of organizing partnership activities; transformation in diversifying and enriching the content of partnership activities; digital transformation; transformation in improving the quality and effectiveness of partnership.

In March, Da Nang Customs Department issued a Plan to implement the development of Customs - Business partnership and related parties at Da Nang Customs Department in 2024.

Head of the Customs Supervision and Management Department (Da Nang Customs Department) Cao Van Nhan said that to implement this plan, Da Nang Customs Department will deploy specific programs and activities. One of the innovative activities this year is the seminar program "Financial settlement report for enterprises operating in processing, manufacturing for export, and processing"; held on April 16, 2024, at Da Nang Customs Department.

The workshop aims to transform the content and methods so that business support activities become more substantial and in-depth, thereby continuing to accompany businesses in removing difficulties in the process of customs procedures in general and in the field of reporting settlement of processing, export production and processing in particular.

The contents of the workshop not only help businesses grasp the regulations and principles of preparing financial statements but also delve into the practical situation of businesses. From there, businesses and experts will discuss and point out the best problems and methods, helping businesses identify common errors and receive guidance on how to handle them in order to comply with regulations, prevent risks, and limit errors arising in preparing financial statements.

The activities to develop the Customs-Business partnership have contributed to the positive import-export results in Da Nang city in the first quarter.

According to the Da Nang Statistics Office, in March 2024, the city's total import-export turnover reached 280 million USD, up 40.9% over the previous month and 4.5% over the same period in 2023. The trade balance of goods in the first 3 months of 2024 continued to maintain a trade surplus of nearly 162.2 million USD.

Moving towards expanding many digital utilities

According to the Da Nang Customs Department, in 2024, activities to develop the Customs-Business partnership will continue to focus on strengthening propaganda and providing information to businesses through information exchange channels that have been effectively deployed in the past and proposing new propaganda methods using technology. Modernizing the customs law enforcement monitoring channel based on the application of information technology solutions; expanding monitoring channels, tools, and utilities so that people and businesses have more options to participate in customs law enforcement monitoring.

Continue to facilitate and provide maximum support for export, import and transit activities to contribute to attracting investment and increasing the volume of import, export and transit goods in the city.

Continue to research and develop solutions to integrate tools to deploy a system to assess the satisfaction of customs declarants with civil servants and customs agencies at all levels integrated into the customs declaration program during the process of handling customs procedures, on the online public service system; application to assess public services at customs headquarters; application to assess the quality of public service provision on mobile version.

Continue to implement the Pilot Program to support and encourage enterprises to voluntarily comply with Customs laws. The goal is that over 80% of enterprises participating in the program will have their compliance level increased or maintain a high level of compliance; over 80% of enterprises participating are satisfied with the support measures of the Customs authorities.

At the same time, focus on cooperation with enterprises operating warehouses, yards, ports, shipping lines, and customs agents in complying with customs laws, ensuring conditions for customs inspection and supervision; exchanging information, evaluating and classifying business compliance.
