Information published on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) has just shown the transaction of buying 1 million HAG shares by Ms. Doan Hoang Anh. After the transaction, Ms. Doan Hoang Anh increased the number of shares owned to 11 million shares, equivalent to 1.19% of charter capital.
It is estimated that Ms. Hoang Anh, daughter of Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc (Bau Duc) had to spend about 13.7 billion VND to buy shares. Bau Duc currently holds 319.95 million HAG shares, equivalent to 34.5% of charter capital.

On the other hand, Ms. Doan Thi Nguyen Xuan, Chairman Duc's sister, previously registered to sell 80,000 HAG shares to balance personal financial needs. The transaction was carried out from January 11, 2023 to February 9, 2023. After the transaction, the number of shares held by Ms. Xuan is expected to decrease to only 73,593 shares, equivalent to 0.008% of charter capital.

Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAG) divests from Bapi pork sales chain
Regarding the business situation of Hoang Anh Gia Lai, this unit has continuously recorded profits of hundreds of billions of VND each quarter. However, this unit has continuously announced the sale of assets and divestment from subsidiaries to get money to pay off debts.
Most recently, the Board of Directors of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company has just approved the transfer of all shares of the Bapi pork sales chain.
Specifically, the company approved the transfer of shares at BAPI Hoang Anh Gia Lai JSC (BAPIHAGL). Accordingly, HAGL will sell all 2.75 million BAPIHAGL shares, with a par value of VND10,000/share. If the transaction is successful, BAPI Hoang Anh Gia Lai will no longer be an affiliated company of HAGL.
BAPI Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company was established in May 2022 with a charter capital of 50 billion VND. It is currently a distribution chain of Bapi banana-fed pork products with headquarters located in Pleiku City, Gia Lai Province.
Also related to the debt repayment issue of Hoang Anh Gia Lai, the company has just announced a resolution on hotels and hospitals to get money to pay off the debt. In which, HAGL has transferred 9.9 million shares that the unit owns at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital - Hoang Anh Gia Lai. At the same time, HAGL also had to resell Hoang Anh Gia Lai Hotel located at No. 1 Phu Dong, Phu Dong Ward, Pleiku City, Gia Lai Province and collected about 180 billion VND. This amount was also used for the purpose of debt repayment.
Hoang Anh Gia Lai reports profits for 2 consecutive years
A paradox that makes investors wonder is that in the past 2 years, HAG has continuously reported profits of up to hundreds of billions of VND each quarter.
However, the company still has to continuously sell assets to get money to pay off due debts. The last loss that HAG recorded was from the first quarter of 2021 with a loss after tax of about 68.8 billion VND.
HAG's recent plan to issue 130 million private shares was also implemented with the aim of raising capital to pay off debt.
In the third quarter of 2023, Hoang Anh Gia Lai recorded revenue of VND 1,889.4 billion, up 31.1% over the same period. Profit after tax reached VND 324.6 billion, up 12.2%. Part of the sudden increase in profit was recorded from the liquidation of fixed assets, contributing VND 144.1 billion to the company's third quarter business results.
In October 2023, Hoang Anh Gia Lai's revenue also recorded 711 billion VND, an increase of 52.3% over the same period. Of which, the fruit tree segment contributed 57.7%, equivalent to 410 billion VND. The livestock segment contributed 27.8%, equivalent to 198 billion VND. The supporting industry was 103 billion VND. In October, the company continued not to announce profits as it had done in previous monthly reports.
