Vu Quang is a mountainous district with many advantages in forestry land, so it always focuses on the development and use of plantation. Thanks to the good implementation of policies on contracting and supporting the development of production forests, the area of planted forests is currently about 14,000 hectares. With a large forest area and good care, the total output of raw wood exploitation in the district in 2023 is estimated at 66,461 m3 , with an economic value of about 74 billion VND, contributing significantly to thousands of households maintaining their livelihoods and increasing their average income per capita to 50.32 million VND/year (3.35 million VND higher than in 2022).
Head of Vu Quang Forest Protection Department Ton Quang Thanh informed: "In 2023, Vu Quang's forestry production exceeded the plan with the area of raw material forest plantation reaching 753 hectares (116% of the plan), forest cover rate reaching 74% (among the highest in the province), and timber exploitation of planted forests exceeding 151% of the plan (about 10 thousand m3 more than in 2022). Along with the management, protection, and PCCCR work being implemented effectively, we have focused on guiding and mobilizing people to plant FSC/VFCS forests, so there have been an additional 2,2142 hectares of high-quality forests. These positive changes have contributed to the gradual modernization of forestry, improving the efficiency of forest land use, promoting socio-economic development, creating more jobs and income for people..."

Huong Khe is also one of the localities that has done well in developing and effectively exploiting planted forests. Accordingly, Huong Khe District Forest Protection Department has strengthened inspection and supervision of processes and regulations on afforestation, forest exploitation, projects related to forestry land and building forestry models, scattered tree planting, and forestry seed production.
The specialized agency has also regularly guided people to plant raw material forests, protect forests, and promote forest regeneration properly, in accordance with regulations, and effectively. In addition, all developments in forests and forestry land in the area are always monitored and updated on the FRMS and MAPINFO software systems.

The use of forests by State forest owners, households, and individuals who are assigned to the forest is also regularly inspected and monitored...
Thanks to that, in 2023, the whole district planted 1,350 hectares of raw material forests and nearly 140,000 scattered trees. The output of timber exploitation of all kinds of planted forests in the year is estimated at 133,000 m3 / 1,350 hectares, rubber latex exploitation reached 2,980 tons, non-timber forest products reached 650 tons... for a production value of hundreds of billions of VND".

Deputy Head of Ha Tinh Forest Protection Sub-Department Tran Van Thong said: "We have focused on guiding, urging, promoting production development, completing and exceeding the assigned targets and plans in 2023. Thanks to that, the whole province has planted 9,070 hectares of raw material forests (reaching 100.7% of the plan), planted 2.8 million scattered trees (reaching 100% of the plan), had an additional 1,059 hectares of planted forests certified for sustainable forest management (raising the total to 26,849 hectares), protected and promoted forest regeneration of nearly 551 hectares, the output of raw wood exploitation reached over 583,120 m3 (reaching 119% of the plan, up 4.3% over the previous year).
Stable and effective forestry production has contributed to increasing forest cover, promoting the efficiency of forestry production land, bringing in economic value of hundreds of billions of VND to improve people's income...".
