Speaking at the program, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairman of the Hanoi City Youth Union Council Dao Duc Viet said that, understanding the needs of children for entertainment, extracurricular activities, skill training, sports, cultural and artistic activities, in recent years, the City Youth Union Council has regularly innovated and improved the quality of content and form of entertainment and review activities for children during the summer.
In the summer of 2024, the Youth Union - Pioneer Council at all levels in the city will continue to register and undertake practical models and activities for children such as: "Military Semester", "Skill Experience", "Weekend Playground", "Swimming Popularization Program", "Teaching and reviewing foreign languages for children"...; at the same time, strengthen socialization and coordination to build community living spaces, children's playgrounds, physical education areas, and children's libraries in residential areas.
Along with that, this year's Action Month for Children was chosen with the theme "Practical actions, prioritizing resources for children" with the goal of effectively implementing policies and programs to strengthen leadership, direction and raise the responsibility of all levels, sectors and the whole society on the meaning and importance of protecting, caring for and educating children - especially children in difficult circumstances; building a safe and friendly living environment to create conditions for children to have a safe and healthy summer.
At the program, the Organizing Committee presented 25 gifts to disadvantaged children and more than 200 International Children's Day gifts to the children attending. The total value of gifts presented at the program was nearly 80 million VND.
On this occasion, the City Youth Union - City Council congratulated Hanoi Children's Palace on 69 years of construction and development, affirming the quality and brand nationwide in out-of-school education for children.
Immediately after launching the Summer opening and responding to the Month of Action for Children of the City Youth Union - City Young Pioneer Council, on June 1, the Youth Union - Young Pioneer Council at all levels simultaneously organized the Peak Day of Volunteer Soldiers "Supporting Children in Difficult Circumstances" in 30 districts, towns and cities in the city.
The city-level pilot activity was held in Bac Tu Liem district with the participation of more than 300 children. At the program, the Organizing Committee awarded 10 bicycles worth nearly 20 million VND and 10 English scholarships worth 468 million VND to children in difficult circumstances.
Also in the program, children are trained in accident, injury and drowning prevention skills, which are necessary skills for them to have a safe and rewarding summer.
Within the framework of the launching program of the City-level Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, the City Youth Union - City Council presented a children's playground including a bookshelf and play equipment for children being treated at the Department of Pediatrics - Central Hospital of Traditional Medicine worth 30 million VND.
