Hanoi: Thousands of people watch the opening of the flower festival

On the evening of December 26, the opening ceremony of the Me Linh Flower Festival 2024 took place at the Me Linh District Administrative Center Square, Hanoi City, attracting thousands of people and tourists.

The flower festival will be held on a scale of nearly 10,000m2, with 10 main areas, 8 miniatures, more than 100 commercial booths... The flowers served at this year's festival are diverse, most of which are meticulously cared for by flower farmers in Me Linh. In his opening speech, Me Linh District Party Secretary Nguyen Thanh Liem said that in recent years, along with promoting industrial and urban development, the district has paid special attention to expanding the traditional flower growing village with nearly 2,000 hectares, associated with trade and tourism; bringing the Me Linh flower brand to all regions of the country and international friends. The Me Linh Flower Festival is not only a simple cultural event but also an opportunity to honor the value of the flower growing village, contributing to promoting the beauty and tourism potential, aiming to build the Flower Festival into an annual event, a separate brand of Me Linh and tourism in the capital.

Attending the program were Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong... along with Central leaders, Hanoi People's Committee and Me Linh District People's Committee.
