On May 26, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training sent an official dispatch to educational institutions on how to cope with the heat and ensure safety when organizing extracurricular activities and summer activities for students in 2023.
Accordingly, Hanoi requires promoting propaganda work to cadres, teachers, employees, parents, and students to raise awareness of responsibility in managing and organizing extracurricular educational activities for students to ensure safety, effectiveness, and compliance with regulations.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that it does not prohibit the organization of spontaneous experiential activities, but it is limited in extremely hot weather conditions. Experiential activities must have a specific plan to ensure the safety of participating students.
This is also one of the requirements when implementing the Month of Action for Children in 2023 of the City People's Committee and implementing the telegram dated May 19 of the Ministry of Education and Training on ensuring safety for cadres, teachers, and students in response to heat as well as the Plan to organize summer activities for students, trainees, and children in 2023 of Hanoi.
Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training also issued an official dispatch on ensuring safety for staff, teachers, students and responding to heat waves at educational institutions.
In particular, the telegram stated that to ensure the safety of cadres, teachers and students performing their learning tasks and organizing educational activities, the Minister of Education and Training requested the Directors of the Departments of Education and Training of provinces and cities to direct educational institutions to proactively adjust the school's educational plans, arrange reasonable timetables; prioritize the early morning time frame to organize teaching of subjects and outdoor educational activities; do not arrange for students to participate in educational activities and extracurricular activities during times of intense heat.
The Ministry requires the organization to review, repair, supplement, and replace broken electrical equipment in classrooms such as electric fans, air conditioners, and ventilation fans; increase the sun protection of classrooms at noon or in the afternoon; open windows for ventilation if the outside temperature is equal to or lower than that in the classroom; increase drinking water to ensure hygiene and safety in classrooms...
