Brick wharf in Ward 5, Ca Mau city (Ca Mau province) has dozens of workers from all over coming here to work every day.

Whether it's a sunny day or a rainy day, the brick market in Hamlet 5, Ward 5, Ca Mau City is still bustling.

Here, dozens of workers take turns carrying bricks from morning to evening. Although the work is hard, in return they have a source of income to support their families.

Workers at the brick market not only have good health and strong shoulders, but also have to be skillful in walking steadily on the planks to load bricks onto trucks every day.

The skillful feet walked on the planks connecting the brick boat to the river bank.

Mr. Truong Thanh Mong has been attached to this brick wharf for about 25 years. He shared that although his health is not as good as when he was young, he can carry several thousand bricks (each thousand is 1,000 bricks) every day, earning 500,000-600,000 VND.

Mr. Truong Thanh Mong, Ward 6, Ca Mau City, (Ca Mau Province) earns about 500,000 VND/day from this brick yard.

Every day, dozens of trucks from Ca Mau City come here to transport bricks to all construction sites.

Brick “bearers” have to arrange each brick onto the truck, then carry the bricks to the construction site. Many workers choose to stick with this hard work for a while, until their health is no longer guaranteed, then they switch to other more suitable jobs.

Bricks are loaded onto trucks and then transported throughout Ca Mau (Ca Mau province).

The bricks are brought here by the boat owners from An Giang, Vinh Long provinces... The brick boat of Mr. Trinh Van Bay, Nhon Phu commune, Mang Thit district, Vinh Long province, seems to have gone to the districts of Ca Mau, but the most is still this brick wharf because of many acquaintances.

Each trip like that, he transports more than 70,000 bricks, each brick costs about 1,200 VND on average (1 thousand bricks cost 1.2 million VND). On average, about 3 days, the brick boats follow each other, taking turns to go to the provinces to get bricks.

Mr. Bay said: "Wherever there is a demand for bricks, I go there, sometimes to Dam Doi, Nam Can... This job is also good for living, it's better than having to work for hire for others."

After a day of work, brick workers relax and eat here. Each person has their own circumstances, they cherish their work to have a better life.
