Mr. Tran The Cuong said that it is necessary to correct ethics andeducate teachers' ideology, after many inappropriate behaviors at schools last week.
At the conference to deploy Hanoi 's school year tasks on the morning of October 5, Mr. Cuong mentioned three "unpleasant" events in the industry.
First, a homeroom teacher at Da Phuc High School in Soc Son District grabbed a female student's shirt and dragged her from the door into the classroom. Mr. Cuong acknowledged that "just because of a cake", the teacher punished the student, causing the incident to go too far, causing public outrage.
The second incident happened at Phan Huy Chu High School - Thach That, the English teacher used "you" (you and I), grabbed the chin and scolded a 10th grade male student with many harsh words. The head of the Hanoi education sector said that this is a private school, the teachers signed a contract with the school, not a state employee. However, "whether it is a public or private school, teachers are not allowed to use such inappropriate language". He said that this incident will certainly become an unpleasant memory for the students.
"These two cases are still being investigated and clarified by the authorities. When there is an official conclusion, we will definitely handle them strictly according to regulations," said Mr. Cuong.

Finally, Mr. Cuong mentioned the case of Lac Long Quan High School in Soc Son District, which threatened to expel a 12th grade female student due to a conflict with her parents. In theory, private schools have the right to stop training students, but "from an educational perspective, it is not allowed."
"What crime did the students commit that they were suspended from school? The school must ensure the rights of the students, not let them not go to school because of conflicts between the school and parents," said Mr. Cuong.
In short, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training recognized that these teachers were only a minority, but the trust of parents and the reputation of the education sector were certainly affected. Therefore, he said that it was necessary to correct the ethics and ideological education of teachers.
Hanoi has more than 2.2 million preschool and primary school students, the largest in the country. The number of teachers in the capital last year was about 140,000. According to Director Tran The Cuong, along with the city, the education sector has a key task in building elegant and civilized Hanoians.
A decision by the Ministry of Education and Training in 2008 issued 24 specific regulations on teacher ethics. It stated that teachers need to be compassionate, tolerant, generous, and treat students kindly; have proper relationships and behavior, and be close to parents, colleagues, and students...
