On April 7, at Gia Do village river wharf (Trieu Do commune, Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province), Trieu Phong district People's Committee organized the 2023 Traditional Boat Racing Festival. This is an activity to celebrate the 116th anniversary of General Secretary Le Duan's birthday (April 7, 1907 - April 7, 2023) and the 51st anniversary of Trieu Phong district Liberation Day (April 29, 1972 - April 29, 2023).
Participating in the traditional boat racing festival are 30 boat racing teams with more than 300 male and female athletes from 18 communes and towns in Trieu Phong district. For the men's category, there are 18 teams divided into 2 categories: A and B competing in 12-person dragon boats. For the women's category, there are 6 teams competing in 12-person dragon boats. For the mixed dragon boat category, there are 6 teams competing in 12-person dragon boats and competing in distances of 1km and 2km.

The Traditional Boat Racing Festival of Trieu Phong district is organized to promote and improve the quality of the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho"; Preserve and promote traditional sports, contribute to arousing the spirit of solidarity, improve material and spiritual life, promote physical education and sports to all classes of people and create a joyful and exciting atmosphere, build cultural and spiritual life and improve people's health, contribute to building and protecting the Fatherland, building Trieu Phong district to meet new rural standards.
At the end of the festival, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to the delegation of Trieu Thuong commune, the second prize to Trieu Do commune, and the third prize to Trieu An commune.
