On February 15, Yen Chau district organized the 2025 "Spring Garden Border" Cross-Country Race. Nearly 1,000 athletes from agencies, units, businesses, communes, towns in Yen Chau district and clubs inside and outside the province participated in the race.
Athletes compete in both men and women categories; with distances of 7 km and 15 km, starting from the Crossroads (Con Huot 2 Village/Dan Don Flower Valley) running through prosperous villages, historical sites and majestic natural landscapes along the route to the finish line at Kim Chung 2 Village Stadium, Phieng Khoai Commune.
Athlete Nguyen Anh Tuan, Son La City: This is a very meaningful sports tournament, spreading the spirit of health training. My wish is to help everyone create a habit of health training and overcome difficulties in life, conquering yourself is the most important thing, I hope there will be more tournaments like this organized so that everyone can try their best to overcome themselves.
This is the third time Yen Chau district has organized a cross-country race, with a route running through a valley of white plum and pear blossoms, inspiring athletes and tourists to participate in the race, contributing to promoting and introducing the image and cultural identity of ethnic minorities, as well as typical agricultural products of the district.
Mr. Pham Duc Long, Vice Chairman of Yen Chau District People's Committee, Son La: Through this cross-country race, we hope to continue to promote the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", contributing to building the homeland and country. At the same time, we also want to promote the image of Yen Chau district, promote tourism activities, as well as promote production linkage activities and agricultural product consumption in the locality.
At the end, the Organizing Committee awarded 4 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 4 third prizes and 28 consolation prizes to male and female athletes in each distance; and awarded certificates to the tallest and youngest male athletes./.
