GenAI 'made in Vietnam' helps businesses comprehensively transform digitally

Ranked in the top 4 of Vietnamese Proficiency Rankings

After only a few months of launch, the 1.6 billion parameter ViGPT model (ViGPT-1.6B) has quickly proven its quality by becoming a language model in the top 4 of the VMLU Vietnamese Proficiency Ranking. The “made in Vietnam” GenAI model is only behind ChatGPT, GPT-4 and gemini. The results show ViGPT's outstanding ability to grasp Vietnamese language knowledge and thinking.

VMLU is a multi-faceted, multi-level Vietnamese language assessment standard that meets the most diverse needs on the market today with 10,880 multiple-choice questions revolving around 58 different topics, distributed across many fields.

With large data sets, VMLU can effectively evaluate the Vietnamese language proficiency of AI models in terms of basic knowledge as well as the ability to solve complex problems.

“The fact that ViGPT entered the top VMLU rankings after only 9 months of research is an extremely impressive achievement, affirming the capacity of the VinBigdata team as well as the effectiveness in product deployment direction,” shared Dr. Nguyen Kim Anh, VinBigdata Product Director.

VinBigdata has completed the community version of ViGPT and is ready to provide it to non-profit organizations. The community version focuses on information search features and content creation on topics specific to Vietnam.

According to the plan, VinBigdata will continue to promote the development of GenAI models with more parameters (3 billion and 11 billion) to serve complex problems for businesses.

Removing bottlenecks in AI application strategy for businesses

“In the past, many businesses were still afraid that integrating AI into key tasks would be costly and 'mechanical', but GenAI tools with optimal models like ViGPT can become the key to solving the bottleneck in AI application strategy,” affirmed Dr. Nguyen Kim Anh.

Up to now, VinBigdata is cooperating with a series of units in many fields such as Public Sector, Banking, Insurance, Aviation... to integrate ViGPT in business and operation activities.

Notable among them is the pilot project with the Information Center (Ministry of Information and Communications) to provide virtual assistants to support public services, support information related to legal documents, policies, and regulations on administrative procedures in the field of Information and Communications.

In addition to the completed community version, the enterprise version of ViGPT - "ChatGPT Vietnamese version" possesses a deep industry knowledge system integrated in the VinBase 2.0 multi-cognitive artificial intelligence platform, with solutions such as ViChat (text channel virtual assistant), ViVoice (call center channel virtual assistant) and new generation ViVi virtual assistant, changing operating habits and improving business efficiency.
