Within the framework of the program "Meeting with Korea in the Northern region in 2023", on May 17, at Kinh Bac Cultural Center, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Korean Embassy in Vietnam to organize the conference "Meeting Bac Ninh - Korea".

In her welcoming speech, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huong Giang emphasized that with the good traditional relationship, Bac Ninh always pays attention to promoting economic cooperation and investment promotion with Korean investors, especially in the context that Vietnam and Korea have just upgraded their relationship to "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" at the end of 2022. Among 39 countries and territories investing in the province, Korea is the country with the largest investment capital with 960 projects, total investment capital of about 14.34 billion USD. Many Korean enterprises and investors have produced and done business effectively, contributing significantly to economic restructuring, job creation, and increased labor productivity. The conference is an opportunity for Korean enterprises and investors to better understand the opportunities, potentials, advantages and responsibilities when investing and doing business in Bac Ninh. We hope that with their practical experience, Korean enterprises will actively contribute to the province in terms of new policies, mechanisms, and breakthrough solutions in areas of strength. This will be an important source of information and basis for Bac Ninh to have more practical solutions in attracting investment, creating favorable conditions for Korean enterprises to operate in Bac Ninh.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam Oh Young Ju thanked Bac Ninh province for supporting the organization of the program series "Meeting Korea and the Northern Region in 2023". He affirmed that this is a program of special significance, an opportunity to promote economic cooperation between Vietnam and Korea. In the context of the world economy facing many challenges, through the Conference, it is hoped that the Bac Ninh provincial government and Korean enterprises will exchange, share, find solutions to overcome difficulties, support business development, and create motivation to attract investment in new fields, typically smart urban development.
The conference listened to Korean business representatives' recommendations related to a number of issues such as: improving traffic infrastructure, the environment around the industrial park, supporting procedures for purchasing social housing for workers, building works to serve the essential needs of foreigners in Bac Ninh... Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan and departments and branches directly answered the recommendations; provided more information about the province's investment attraction orientation in the coming time; the production and business activities of industrial park enterprises in general, and Korean enterprises in particular.
Concluding the Conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huong Giang requested relevant departments, branches and localities to absorb recommendations and proposals from Korean enterprises and resolutely implement solutions to attract investment; support and protect the legitimate rights of enterprises. Hopefully, after this Conference, the two sides will have many meetings, learn more deeply about the contents that enterprises are interested in, and concretize them with memorandums of understanding on cooperation. With the view that enterprises are the driving force for development, Bac Ninh commits to strong administrative reform, building a safe, attractive, transparent and favorable investment environment. It is hoped that FDI enterprises in general and Korean enterprises in particular will promote creativity in labor and production, be willing to share information and strategic vision, enrich themselves and contribute to the sustainable development of Bac Ninh province.
