According to Vietnam Electricity (EVN), the National Power System Dispatch Center recently recorded new records for maximum capacity and daily electricity consumption nationwide.

EVN khuyến cáo người dân sử dụng điều hòa ở mức 26 - 27 độ C trở lên, sử dụng thêm quạt để tiết kiệm điện

EVN recommends that people use air conditioners at 26 - 27 degrees Celsius or higher, and use fans to save electricity.

Specifically, the national maximum capacity reached 47,670 MW at 1:30 p.m. on April 27. National consumption on April 26 reached 993 million kWh.

In the North, from April 15 to 21, the National Power System Control Center recorded an increase of more than 13 million kWh/day in electricity consumption compared to the previous week.

According to EVN, the North is experiencing its first heat wave and electricity consumption is forecast to continue to increase in the upcoming heat waves. EVN is mobilizing optimal power sources, combining increased transmission from the Central region to the North and keeping water levels in hydroelectric reservoirs high throughout this year's dry season.

EVN affirmed that to meet electricity demand for the Northern region, power generation corporations may mobilize additional diesel generators borrowed from customers to supplement power supply to the national power system in emergency situations.

To ensure electricity supply during the peak dry season months (from April to July), EVN is promoting electricity saving, adjusting load for each group of electricity customers; coordinating with localities to implement electricity saving according to Directive No. 20/CT-TTg dated June 8, 2023 of the Prime Minister .

In the announcement issued on April 29, EVN hopes that all customers and residents will join hands to make saving electricity a habit. EVN hopes to receive the sharing and cooperation of residents and customers through saving electricity, especially during peak evening hours, from 7-11pm every day.

EVN recommends that people and customers use air conditioners reasonably, only turn them on when really necessary, set them at 26 - 27 degrees Celsius or higher and combine them with fans; do not use many high-capacity electrical devices at the same time during peak hours.
