- EVN proposes not to increase coal prices for electricity production

After the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) wanted to increase the selling price of domestic coal for electricity production, the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) immediately responded in writing. EVN requested that TKV consider not increasing the price of domestic coal sold for electricity production, and the price of domestic coal in the plan to blend with imported coal. (See more)

- Power supply scenario in 2024

EVN has just proposed two scenarios for power supply in 2024 based on the scenario of water flow to hydroelectric reservoirs. Accordingly, scenario 1: Water flow to hydroelectric reservoirs is at normal level (corresponding to frequency of 65%); scenario 2: Extreme (poor water flow as happened in 2023 corresponding to frequency of about 90%) (according to VNA).

- 40 times increase in fees for new registration and license plates for pickup trucks

According to Circular 60 recently issued by the Ministry of Finance, from October 22, there will be many changes in the fees for issuing new registration certificates and license plates for cars. Accordingly, the fee for issuing new registration certificates with license plates for pickup trucks in Region 1 (Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City) will be 20 million VND, an increase of 40 times compared to before (according to VTV).

- National reserves of gasoline and oil have only reached 9 days.

- Budget revenue decreased, only reaching over 1 million billion VND in 8 months

Director General of the General Department of Taxation Mai Xuan Thanh said that budget revenue has shown signs of decline since the beginning of the year. The total accumulated state budget revenue in the first 8 months of the year was about 1 quadrillion VND, down 8.8% compared to the same period in 2022 (according to Tien Phong).

- Vietnamese exports increase the most in 1 year

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in August, Vietnam's goods exports were estimated at 32.4 billion USD, up 7.7% compared to the previous month. Oil prices fell today on the world market after approaching a 10-month peak. Oil prices fell due to cautious investor sentiment and improved supply.

World gold prices continue to fall due to selling pressure. Domestic gold bar prices increase sharply, approaching the 69 million VND/tael mark.

Today, the market recorded two more banks reducing deposit interest rates for terms of 6 months or more. A series of banks reduced deposit interest rates to below 6%/year.
