(CLO) The UAE city of Dubai is about to welcome a new super project called Therme Dubai - Islands in the sky, promising to create a new mark on the city's skyline.

Developed by Therme Group, a global wellness resort developer, the 100-meter-tall structure will feature floating botanical gardens, mineral pools, healing hot springs, and spaces for cultural and social events.

Designed by architecture firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro (DS+R), the resort will be located in Zabeel Park, right next to the Royal Palace.

With an expected capacity of 1.7 million visitors per year, the project aims to set a new standard in holistic wellness and urban resort experiences. Robert Hanea, founder and CEO of Therme Group, stressed that Dubai is a city that puts human happiness first.

The project is described as an "oasis in the sky", consisting of many botanical gardens stacked on top of each other like islands floating in the air.

According to architect Elizabeth Diller, each island will feature heated pools, decks and lush vegetation, creating unique spaces with sweeping views of Dubai. During the day, the space will offer a relaxing atmosphere, while at night it will come alive with music, art performances and special events.

Therme Group is committed to using environmentally friendly technologies, with 90% of the water in the pools being recycled and 80% of the cooling needs being met by clean energy. Construction is expected to begin in 2026 and be completed in 2028.

In addition to Therme Dubai, the city is also building a series of other iconic structures. One of them is the Burj Azizi, the world's second tallest skyscraper at 725 meters, with 131 floors of luxury apartments, a "7-star" hotel and a vertical shopping mall. When completed in 2028, the tower will set many records, including the world's tallest hotel lobby, tallest nightclub and highest observation deck.

In addition, Ciel Dubai Marina, the world’s tallest hotel at 365 metres, is also about to open. Scheduled to open this year, the hotel will feature more than 1,000 rooms and suites spread over 82 floors, further cementing Dubai’s position as a leading destination for luxury architecture and tourism.
